Don't share your optimism mate. The finger has got this one in the bag

Only just found out what happened. Set my alarm for 4:55 this morning but typically it didn't go off!

Was wondering and getting peed off that Sky kept on rescheduling the full qualifying highlights, so had to watch on BBC at midday and I now understand why.

Thank god my alarm didn't go off

Got a feeling that Hamilton will get pole for this race.

Anyone staying up for it and watching the race tomorrow?

Rules:
Rule 5: The Hamelots are also unwelcome

---------------------------------------------------

Big Schumacher fan since back in the mid 90s but now he's gone I will be getting behind Hamilton. Definitely the most exciting driver to support these days. Hope this doesn't violate rule 5

posted on 16/3/13

I like Hammy too mate. The Hamelots are way over the top.

You are a Utd fan, you'll be fine. Except you like Vettel

posted on 16/3/13

Never been a Vettel fan, been hanging on to Schuy for the last few years but now he's gone I need a need driver to follow.

Hamilton has grown on me the last year or two so I think I'll start following him now.

the diva

you should get on board with vettel my old son , he"s the one who will be doing all the winning for the next few years

to be honest i am not even sure if hamilton has got the beating of rosberg , if he cant beat rosberg on a regular basis he is in trouble , deep , deep , deep , deep trouble as far as his WDC aspirations are concerned -

posted on 16/3/13

Hamilton has beaten Alonso and Button. I'm confident he'll be able to match Rosberg.

Last year, Schumi was beating Rosberg until reliability issues destroyed his championship

man unt devil

hamilton will need to do alot more than just match rosberg if he wants to get his hands on another WDC anytime soon --

think about it manx -- his main rivals for the foreseeable future will be vettel and alonso not to mention the younger drivers that are coming thru - hulk , bottas , etc

vettel and alonso have the beating of there team mates so probably will not lose many points to them over a season ,
if hamilton cannot dominate rosberg in the same fashion he will be stuffed by the afore mentioned vettel and alonso in the coming seasons -
to be honest manx after yesterdays little showing from hamilton i am not so sure he will have the beating of rosberg --

All Hamilton needs to be successful is a competitive car that is reliable.

Last season, if McLaren had given him a reliable car, he would have won the championship with ease.

He beat Vettel on multiple occasions with superior and non superior machinery. He was the only person who got close to Vettel in 2011 as well when Vettel's car was faster than everyone elses.

He has the skills and I trust he will. Alonso has failed to beat Vettel 3 times as well but you do not write him off. Why is that?

Vettel has had the best car on the grid for the best part of 3 years and has extracted the maximum. Last year we saw what happened when he didn't have the fastest car.

It was constant crying on the radio. Let's see where Hammy and Rosberg are at the end of the season.

having a competitive and reliable car is all that alonso and vettel will ever need as well manx - hamilton is certainly not unique in that manx ,

as for vettel having superior equipment in 2011 ,
------------- somebody should have informed webber how superior the red bull was whilst the two mclarens were beating him that year

as for why i dont write alonso off -- simple -- i believe him to be close to all time great status with his combination of speed , intelligence and finesse with the tyres especially after last year , whilst not forgetting he has not actually had a competitive car for 5 years -- yes i said 5 years ,
this years ferrari i believe will be a more competitive package than anything he has had for the past 5 yrs ,

since the end of the brain dead fuel stop era it has placed the emphasis on the more intelligent drivers to show what they can do
-- think we can safely say vettel and alonso have shown what they can do since the end of the fuel stop era ,

agree with you 100% manx about vettel - vettel didnt have the " fastest car " last year ,
--------------------- yet he still won the championship

posted on 16/3/13

He had the fastest car on the grid from the middle of the season.

Like I said, Hamilton lost over 90 points due to reliability alone. Would have won it with ease.

Let's see how the season goes before making knee jerk predictions

posted on 16/3/13

I've said this multiple times and I'll say it again. Vettel and Webber do not have the same car.

Webber's car seems always to have kers issues, Vettel rarely ever does. The same car should have the same issues.

Webber is a number 2 driver. His job is to take points off others and not race Vettel

Vettel will win easily.

sorry manx i cant agree with you mate , vettel had something he could finally take the fight to mclaren with from singapore onwards with last year ,
to be honest i dont think he ever had a car that was better than the mclaren all last season ,

mclaren had such a big advantage in pace over everybody right from the first race especially red bull i dont see how red bull could have ever overtaken mclaren in the developement race when they were at such a disadvantage at the start of the season -

red bull desperately , desperately , and i do mean desperately want to win the constructors championship as do all the teams ,do you honestely believe in your wildest dreams that a current formula 1 team let alone red bull is going to purposely give one driver a turkey that he cannot race and fight with knowing that will stop them from winning the WCC and all the extra millions and exposure they would lose -

lets use a bit of commonsense manx --

since when has webber been a no2 driver -
------ no 2 drivers are simply not allowed to beat the no 1 driver ,
--------- webber has often beat vettel in the yrs they have been teamed up

They would be under Parc Ferme conditions. As soon as they start a quali lap they are under it so to speak.

Although these are unusual circumstances. They will probably be allowed to repair any damage though.

posted on 16/3/13

Rap, they will be allowed to fix the damaged parts but cannot make any set up changes.

posted on 16/3/13

Is it to be dry tomorrow?

I think they can change from a wet to dry set-up if it is.

anfield rap

not sure if the cars have gone into parc ferme as qual is not actually over yet ,

if they are -- as qual was stopped in such circumstances charlie whiting would probably allow any damaged car to be repaired if it made it into q2 -

martial, ferrari have done it in the past and redbull do it. Can anyone tell me why only one car always hs kers issues. They are the same, are they not bar individual set up. So why always one car with the issues?

You've said in the past that Webber is a god driver and very quick so why can't he make the fastest car on the grid work for him?

He's either an average driver or their cars are not the same.

Webber has been the number 2 driver from the day he joined RedBull. They never wanted him and were forced to take him as they wanted Renault engines. He came as part of the deal
