Y'know you can type crap on here, right?
How, I tried once and failed. Oh well, CRAP!
Guys stop talking crap!
I hope that scenario A happens and we relegate Millwall! If we don't go up Peterborough away was a good day out. Will you still have the terrace next season?
I fully expect us to beat the rowdy neighbours so we can all have a good day out on Saturday.
If we do win tomorrow then it might do us a favour by losing on Saturday and of course that would put more pressure on Millwall.
What's not to like?
Hastings, I like!
Mon, glad you enjoyed your day out in Peterborough (no doubt, especially the result). Whether or not we will have the away terrace next season is a moot point - it was supposed to have been demolished last October. Last talk was of it being downed in the summer, so I suspect not. Unfortunately, its replacement is seating. We are campaigning for safe standing in the home London Road End, and hope we will be the guinea pigs for this.
I'm coming down to the game with a Palace fan from the village, and we'll be drinking in a home fans hostelry, before splitting up to sit in our respective areas of the ground.
Good luck tomorrow!
It also might work in our favour if we beat millwall then lose on Saturday to finish 6th and Udinese B overtaking Hull. I think we stand more of a chance in the play-offs against Hull than anyone else.
Let's hope a Brentford style backfire is in order to send millwall down!
If it did come down to us losing so that millwall get relegated it would be quite a strange atmosphere. I think something similar happened with Southampton losing and Portsmouth getting relegated? However the players are "professional" and Holloway doesn't recognise rivarly so will probably be the only day we actually give someone a beating.
Posh will be well represented at Selhurst Park - we've sold our full allocation of 2,600 tickets and have requested some more.
Millwall 0-0 Palace. Slightly disappointing in that Millwall didn't lose.
Palace will now mind very much if they lose on Saturday, and may not be happy with a draw if there is a possibilty that Bolton and Forest could win by a lot of goals.
The reports indicate that Palace played poorly tonight. Let's hope that there is no backlash and that they end up playing poorly against the Posh on Saturday.
I am not long back from the beam back.
We are a poor, poor team, make no mistake. If you read elsewhere that there are signs of revival or positives to be taken from tonight, you can dismiss all that.
Millwall were not good, we know that from where they are. Our lofty position suggests we are so much better. We are not. Our recent form suggests that we are relegation candidates in truth and we will be next season if this continues.
Posh can expect at least a draw.
The team play like headless chickens for the most part, still can't pass more than about four balls and Holloway's subs come far too late when we're crying out for a change.
If we make the playoffs courtesy of Bolton or Forest messing up,we will be tonked. All the playoff teams will be wanting to play us.
How can we have been allowed to turn into such a shadow of the team we were? If I didn't know who was playing tonight on that screen I would have thought it would have been two league two teams battling out a relegation match.
And since I have learned today that we can use the word 'crap' on here, then that's the best way to describe our team I'm afraid.
I got tickets for me and the boy for Saturday as well today and I aint looking forward to it.
Be afraid, be very afraid....
Posh fans....be optimistic, this could well be a good day out......
I saw Palace play Posh at London Road and they were brilliant. It's still the same team on paper. Perhaps, it's the manager who has turned your team into a shadow of what they were. What a shame. Perhaps, they will come good soon - preferably, though, in the play offs after a Posh win on Saturday.
I decided not to listen or watch the game last night for 2 reasons.
1 - When I logged in to Palace Player on Saturday Blackburn scored
2 - I couldn't stand listening to 90 minutes of "mmmmmiiiiiiillllllllllluuuuuurrrrrggggghhhhhhfshksfadhashakdf!" It's sounds like someone has left a car engine running. Not sure how that is a "proper" atmosphere?
I think it will be 0-0 with Palace making all the chances and Glenn Murray hitting the post and crossbar 29 times. In the 97th minute Palace win a penalty from the most ridiculous dive by Zaha. Suddenly Adrian Durham jumps out of the Posh end and convinces the ref to overturn the penalty. From the Posh freekick they go and score and Durham runs the full length of pitch sliding on his knees infront of the Holmesdale flicking Mullery V's at everyone. Palace stay in the play-offs because of other results.
That would sum up our season pretty well.
I saw someone said on the BBS "If Palace get promoted it will prove that football is unfair"
They don't look like they even know each other or what they're supposed to be doing. Painful to watch. Woeful.
Mon
More chance of your scenario happening than Palace playing premier football next season.
Been reading that IH is upbeat and thought we were 'terrific'. Totally deluded.
And as for giving Williams 15 minutes and not even giving Phillips any time, well it's beyond comprehension....
Based on form and other games that day the best result for everyone would be a draw. Possibly enough to keep Posh up and leave us in 6th place. If we can lose and finish 6th I'd be happy with that. Millwall still can get relegated.
Taking into account the last 7 games I really REALLY don't want to play brighton in the semis. Imagine having to suffer not only losing potentially TWICE to our rivals but knowing that we helped them possibly reach the Premier League
I guess it wouldn't seem like a proper Palace season if it didn't go down to the last game.
Mon, at your previous comment.
As for Brighton, they're a tough proposition. They roughed up our players a little, so maybe a red card or two will make your task easier.
Hi All, ThorneyPosh look away lad, update your profile or something (Find better Favourite Player’s) because, I’ll make no bones about this –nothing will gimme more pleasure than to Relegate Peterborough and this was me thinking before last nights missed opportunity! And don’t get me started on Adrian bloody Durham! I always listen to Drivetime on Talkshyte. However, the ginger troll is the biggest WUM going! Beneficiary to him, that he’s commentating at NAAwich this wkend! I’ll explain my back story...In 1999, My Parents thought it’ll be a great idea, to take me away from Addington High School (was in year 10...giving away my age now ) & to move to St Peter’s High School & live in Huntingdon! And this was round the time Cambridge 2-0 PALACE in the FA Cup! And, what is the first thing your school mates ask you at the New school? What team do you support? Sigh! I met & still occasionally talk to people in Huntingdon/ Peterboro & some of My Family still live in Ramsey now. But, MY WORD – at the time, & still more or less still is like growing up on the Eastenders set, than changing to live on the Emmerdale Farm programme. I cannot ever watch Emmerdale, because of living my 3-year time in East Anglia! Jokes aside, Good luck with the campaign for safe standing, luv terracing! Should always be a spot in every football ground for safe standing! However, you'll just have to be the guinea pigs to keep CPFC in the PlayOffs! Glad All Over Brizzle ©hity got RELEGATED! We never Win there, even when we score a legitimate goal (Freddie Sears) we’ll not allowed to Win at that plastic football club, that don’t sell beer & has no backs to the seats! Their ground needs bulldozing – just gimme a shout & I’ll be happy to do it! Wolves is a decent ground & area (also, know people in the district), but be funny to see it in League 1! Barnsley (met a few people thru this Club) but they need to go down, to comeback stronger, yet think they’re survive..Like a Wigan. We’ve had history with Sheff Weds – no pun intended, but Hillsborough is dying for a revamp! I believe its upto Huddersfield? Decent ground, so no issues with them...YET! Oh, and as for the armpit of South London $©umwall...wouldn't batted an eyelid if they went outta business tomorrow! Hope i've gotten My Opinion across
By the way, nice scenario MonThePalace sounded like a Stockport moment 12-years ago funnily enough I were in Peterborough watching it (biting my nails) until Greedman saved us!
On; yesterday, like I said; MISSED OPPORTUNITY! Not only to secure us a PlayOff spot (Christ, with this squad We should be Top 2) BUT, also to cement the wall a Relegation place! Just, feels like We have nothing to play for. Like it’s pre-season or something! There’s Zer0 confidence, although We played with a little more fight last night, than previous games, but suppose cause of it being the occasion of the Local Oyster Card Derby.
Why Dobbie & especially KP didn’t start is beyond me! These two, know how to get a Club UP! It’s like We’re making it tougher for Ourselves not to gain Promo!
Wow - what can I add to that?
