all this baloney about slow batting etc - this is TEST CRICKET, get over it or go watch a slogathon. I'll bet these self-same people who bang on about how slow this is are the first ones to criticise if someone gets out to an attacking shot which was unnecessary!

Anybody get on the draw at 1/2 last night?

Absolute steal - even if all five days were available. Going to pour down all day tomorrow, anyway.

Best price now is a paltry 1/5

I dont believe Fans are moaning because of "slow batting" but rather bored at the Defensive, over-cautious, negative approach of england batsmen.
They surely dont look the team which have "win" in their mind.
Also this flat pitch and so-called "worst ever aussie team" dont justify "Supreme team england"s run rate.

Very good decision by the umpire. Long time since we said that.

Trott out lbw to Starc after a review by England.

Well this is what happens when you have such a defensive mind set. Not enough runs on thee board and inevitably wickets start to tumble with the new ball.

Yeah right.
Personal milestone is the only subject of interest in this game now.
Would love to see Bell get another Century or double even? That would be a little history.
Some epic touch to end the series in an imperial note.

lot of rain forecast tomorrow - my prediction is we will end up something like 250 for 6 or 7 tonight. Then maybe a bit of play tomorrow afternoon all out just avoiding the follow-on. Australia will then bat for awhile monday and attempt a result, however i think its too little too late.

Nice song, Marco.

I wonder what Clarke is sledging to KP?

Maybe something like "You haven't texted me yet about your players?"

KP out for 50. bit of a lame dismissal. Another moderate score from England. Woakes in.

so that's 3 out of 4 so far in this innings the batsmen have got themselves out... 2 wide shots (AGAIN) and a sweep..

Woakesy!

Looking at Woakes if he can make a good number 6.. His bowling wont be that bad in a 4 seamer attack. 3rd seamer no chance.

Apparently according to the stump mic Clark said "hey Kevin you know no one likes you" and pietersen replied "you're captain and no one likes you" I think England can consider themselves slightly not getting the rub of the green with the number of deliveries missed by Aus batters compared to the wide long hops ours get out to. though they should be leaving them

I see Englands mindset. After Aus batted and scored 400+ and the weather forecast wasnt that good, they perhaps decided to play safe cricket. They dont want to give any sniff of a victory to Australia. This also will push the aussie bowlers to stay on the filed for almost 2+ days and could be a good plot to injure or over-work a few of the fragile bowlers in the Aus line up.

This is all strategy. England batsmen aint in that great form and hence they wont to risk. As matter of fact they have already won 3-0.

No play tomorrow

posted on 24/8/13

its unlikely but if we manage to get 50 overs today and the aussies take the remaining wickets in the 30 overs, then bat for 20 overs and first session tomorrow. could set England 300 or so in 2 sessions.
Could be a game on.. But todays forecast is horrendous.
