Woakes as played one test match. and root Is 22 years old. Prior as been out of form.
Only batsman in form as been Ian Bell. Theres plenty of improvement to come
Theres zero chance of Rodgers giving way to Cowan.. Id be surprised if Cowan plays again for Australia. Starc at the moment is a 4 ball bowler.
Siddle and Harris are good bowlers. Lyons not to bad.
They keep saying how Australian conditions will suit Australia.. I somehow doubt it.. I think it will suit Englands batsmen more. and the scores will be higher.
Cheers for the bump Admins
Neo you might need to create a fresh article as the OP Amir has gone missing for months.
Yeah good point Kash hadn't noticed that, I'm not sure if I have the time to do one tomorrow but we can use this till the weekend otherwise. Alternatively anybody else is welcome to make one.
Can see an Australian victory Tbh.
The 1 week when England were no 1, was the time they could have walked away with a win here.
Aus to win 2-1 against the 'that team that represents England'

Okay
Anyway it's good to see some of the old faces from the summer, where are UH, englandwhoelse, and that saffer who is really bitter towards England whenever we play?
In terms of the series I honestly have no idea which way it will go, first test is absolutely crucial.

Trott?

prediction 2-2, maybe aus evan nicking it, australia showed last series with a few lucky breaks they could have drawn the series, can see it being similar to the 2005 series where england were given no hope
I'm here but have half of Yorkshire on filter
Might as well carry on with this as the main thread.
Will be following every ball of this first test as I shall be doing nights.
lucky breaks could have drawn the series?
You mean the series England won 3 zero.. with a poor batting performance from most of the batters?.
Good to see the old boys, THudd , UH and englandwhoelse back
Morning neo, morning everyone (including filtered)..
Weather set fair, no injury worries, Barmy Army ready to fill the ground, Snicko and Hotspot ready to dominate talking points.
Not confident at all about this series, despite all evidence (results wise) pointing towards a narrow England retention of the Ashes.
If the Aussies can get after Cook again with that ball that nips or straightens into his pads, get Trott out when he is vulnerable at the start of his innings due to poor footwork, then I can see many sub-300 scores from us.
There is not as much between the two sides as our 3-0 win this year suggests.
