Fred plays in Brazil and will probably stay there given that he starts for his country and there is a WC coming
its a different Fred thats signed for Shakthar
Chaps, we cannot blame the club without knowing why Villa chose to stay in Spain, the decision could be out of our hands, let's not judge until we know the facts <oK>
"Why on earth would I got to tottenham?! They are so pequeño" - David Villa
I wonder what Spurs offered. 5 million euros seems an unbelievably low fee
For the life of me i cannot understand those saying how good this news is. He's only 31, is still a cracking player and a damn sight better than any other striker we could get. I can't stand this constant longing for potential. Sometimes you need to buy experience and what a statement of intent that would have been. There's nothing on the market really now. Benteke? No thanks, file under Darren Bent. We're screwed striker wise and now we've blown 17 million on a defensive midfielder with Parker and Sandro already in the ranks.
Daily Mail reporting that Villa and Thiago might be going to United... 12 minutes ago...

Wow.... Did you actually just say that?
If anyone cares to check my comments they would know villa was signing for athletico as of 5 weeks ago.
Never believe the papers
fridgeboy...............................................I too find it a little worrying. I think this has got a last minute bid for Benteke written all over it.
Two problems however:
Spurs would have already played 3 league games by then.
Aston Villa may just tell us to get stuffed and there goes another transfer window.
"We have spent most this summer trying to get him and Atletico sneak in and snatch him."
"sneak" ??
They were one of three options he personally had.
So we assume Atletico will (eventually) pay the 10m Euros min Barca allegedly wanted as a transfer fee.

look like..................any hints to what strikers we may be looking at then?
Look Like, I clearly remember you saying it was between us, Arsenal and Athletico, with us being least likely! Are we actually looking for a striker?
Defoe to tear up season 2013/14 -> bookmark!
Tottenham have signed Carlton Cole on a Pay As You Play deal. Cole was out of contract and joins AVB's team for free.
Villa rejected both us and arsenals contracts. We werr officially informed of his choice last night. As I said it was always the case madrid were struggling with the fee.
Cheers hugo
we are in for benteke and the other one I always mention higuain.
Hugo, are we looking for a striker? We f ucking better be. Paulinho is a great signing but this still doesn't hide the fact that we are desperate for a striker or 2. We have needed a top striker since Berbatov. Adebayor was initially bought in on loan and did great 1st season, we then bought him for a cut price deal. We never seem to break the bank for positions we desperately need.... Strikers FFs!!!
hahah let me guess. all the doughnuts are out blaming levy? i already have one clown at work who is doing so.
it makes sense really - athletico is in spain and they offer CL football

Look like, no chance we will get Higuin with Arsenal involved and I personally don't want anything from Real Madrid. They will try and use it to their advantage so they can try and get Bale next summer, sneaky bas tards they are.
