"Porto, shaktar and Dortmund have all built excellent sides over recent years, only to be ripped apart by the football mega riches. The cycle needs to be broken."
Porto and Dortmund repair themselves very quickly.
Last season was the first time we saw serious personnel changes at Spurs with hardly any effects on the end product.
I'd expect similar this season if Bale goes and Soldado goes.
^Soldado goes ^ Soldado comes
If we had a system like Porto have, I'd wouldn't mind Bale leaving tbh
I'm having one of those mornings where I'm totally disillusioned with the game..

I doubt they would get away with it if they were an English/German/Italian club, but yes, as long as the base level of your squad is high and remains intact, these things are not a problem.

The best players move to the clubs that have the best chance of winning things. It's not really anything new is it.

not necessarily
players don't move to Anzhi / Monaco / PSG / Man City because they have the best chance of winning things

Everyone is on a downer this morning
Glad its not just me
Not me, I'm loving this summer transfer window (Bale nonsense included) .
Arsenal used to do it well. Unfortunately for them, Wenger seems to have forgotten key ingredients for building a top side instead of just a very good one - ie leaders and fight in midfield, in addition to being able to just play as he currently favours.
I think we'd actually be in a prime position to use the funds received - Baldini is in place, AVB has Levy's trust, and the two men seemed to have a good relationship even before coming here.
The world will not collapse if Bale leaves, people need to realise this.
