In my honest opinion...Oscar and Mata can comfortably play together.
Oscar as a deep lying playmaker, while Mata as the creative force.
I look forward to the day, jose will try this combo, but until Frank has left the club, i may not get to see this mouth-watering combo...it's a shame!

I am not anxious because the front midfield 3 area is not the problem, the area holding us back imo is the CM pairing (we lack the required quality) and also the lack of offensive play from our full backs

Not the issue. Far as I'm concerned there's nothing to be anxious about short term at all. I haven't watched much this season but the results have been consistent and I have the utmost faith in Mourinho.
What I'm concerned with is us possibly one day looking back and regretting the sale of a Mata for what turned out to be yet another 2/3 year stand between the board and the management. Mata & Mourinho are both special individuals but lets not kid ourselves here, our players are more valuable than our management with this regime in place.
I think Mata is a good player, but there are better out there and i think you overstate the case about him, and personally I don't think he was as good as Zola, I put Mata on a par with Gudjohnson

Mata has had penty os starts this season and has only played well agst Spurs, Swindon and Arsenal this season, in other games he has been poor, that is the truth of the Mata.........
As i have said numerous times already, at some stage in our season he will make a massive contrinution to us and hit form, but right now this is not the case.
What makes me laugh is that Arsenal fans are not crying about the rotation of their own midfield favourite players and let me tell you why.................it is because you are winning...............

For someone labelled as our best player so far he's been average for a bit now. I said he was ok to avoid getting a backlash from your camp who just blindly look at the results of a game rather than the performance.
What happened is I been reading your opinions trying to bulldoze everyone over who comes in your way. Thats not how we work here mate. Someone has a different opinion. Fine. Doesn't mean they know nothing about football

In the case of your last message I'm saying I understand our standoff if you put Mata on par with Gudjohnsen.
The combination of his technical ability and consistency is something precious, not irreplaceable but not to be taken for granted either.
It has nothing to do whether he is our best payer so far or not, it is just that he suits Jose's preferred style of play. In his last 5 or so games he has contributed more without the ball than with it and so from that perspective he is perceived to have gone off the boil, but Jose does not have a problem with that, not at least when we win anyhow.
