Can't Podolski play striker?

It's not Gibbs I worry about, it's the protection in front of him. Gibbs can cope with very good players, but if he can't deal with two, so whoever is on the left off the ball (probably Santi) really needs to step up.

He can't do it - no movement, can't link play, doesn't run in behind. He basically just floats in front of the opposition back 4 doing nothing playing at CF. Still think Giroud is the best option we have, definitely while Theo is out.
