Nah, is he Serious!!?
A man whose lowest position in 23 years was 3rd, you say would've done what now!?

oh man

Ferguson struggling would be 3rd place, not 7th

I don't think he really believes that, I just think he's trying to get as much time as possible to stay in the job.

Champions league.

Exactly.

This is strange. Questioning one of the few people willing to back him. Signs that he's starting to crack and it could majorly backfire. Unless he spoke to Sir Alex and got the all clear before making such statements, in which case it would still be desperate clutching at srraws but not alienating one of his main pillars of support.

I really don't think he has a clue how he wants them to play though. The players certainly don't look like a group of guys playing to any sort of game plan.

If you want to know how ferguson would have performed with this squad, look at last season I guess. Moyes has added £70m in transfers to a championship winning team and taken them to 7th...

Moyes's biggest mistake was in getting rid of the backroom staff en masse and replacing them with people he worked with at Everton.

Be basically took a well oiled machine, stripped out all of the good bits of ancillary equipment and replaced them with bits that didn't work properly.

This shows a breathtaking arrogance of the man and Everton's resurgence under Martinez also highlights his managerial frailty.

Moyes for life!!

But it has been so un-Man United, which is why we have to look to continue a policy of building, improving, getting better."

----------------------------

Continue? I didn't realise this policy was in place.

As for fergie struggling, I agree he would not be walking away with the league right now as others have improved but to imply things would be in anyway a struggle this season is ridiculous, SAFs record speaks for itself.

Rather than continue Moyes policy of destroying a title winning team

posted on 29/3/14

I'm sorry but there is no way Fergie would be struggling as badly as Moyes is, as the above poster said Fergies record speaks for itself. For him to win the title with this same squad by quite some margin says it all really. I'm not saying Fergie would walk the league this year as the teams around us have without a doubt improved, but to imply Fergie would struggle as much as Moyes is struggling now for me is borderline delusional. Fergie would not have allowed this team to drop out of the top 4 his ego and managerial expertise wouldn't have allowed it.

teams turned up already beaten last season. It was based on the name of the club and manager. Historical fear based results.

the illusion is shattered now and we see the quality of the players in the cold light of day

I wouldn't blame Moyes for that

So Moyes insults the one man who's actually behind him, way to speed up your exit from the club you clueless clueless sod.

last season, only 1 team got over 80 points.
this season, 2 teams are looking at a potential 90 points. Liverpool are looking at 89, though realistically low to mid 80's. arsenal high 70's to low 80's. everton are right on arsenal's tail. so yes. with last season's squad, considering how other teams have improved. even fergie would be struggling to get top 4.
but as I also said, there's no way fergie would have started the season with the same squad. with the number of aging players needing replacement, it's impossible to predict how you'd line up. but he would have made damn sure you had a better squad than this. and they would all have been comfortable with the formations and training regimes.

With idiotic statements like that, it seems Moyes has taken it upon himself to build walls and not enough bridges. If he loses the support of saf then he is most defiantly toast come summer, if not sooner.

He's a dead man walking. It's now when and not if.

I actually think we might struggle today personally. Villa's attack has both pace and strength so we're in for a tough match.

I do think Fergie would struggle to win the title but maybe not top 4. He'd certainly not be struggling to the extent of Moyes.

Most of the other teams around the top have improved but United would still have that fear factor for teams playing them that has been lost since Fergie left, so many of the dropped points to the teams you wouldn't expect, don't happen.

Fergie would have spent money in the summer also, and not on Fellaini. He would have had to to replace Rooney and would no doubt have brought in a marquee signing.

People slating him but Moyes is right. Last season we were fortunate that we had RvP and the other sides were a joke.

This year city, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Southampton, Everton and Newcastle are all better while so many of our big players are older and in the last year of their contracts.

RvP has missed half the season with injuries and if you guys haven't forgotten, Giggs would have played more, Rooney would have been sold and it's doubtful we would have brought in a CM.

SaF got out at the right time and while I very much doubt we'd be 7th under him, this definitely would have been his hardest season in getting into the top 4. He probably would have come 4th but luckily for him he left on a high.

posted on 29/3/14

*those clubs I mentioned above are all better than what they were last season.

posted on 29/3/14

We might not even have gotten out of the cl group with SaF's predilection for rotating in the group stages.

Robb

Fair play to you for sticking by Moyes.

I lost faith ages ago now and never thought he was the right man for us.

When will be your breaking point I wonder? How bad would it have to get until you changed your mind?
