Messi and Ronaldo don't play as main strikers either... Rooney gets into goalscoring positions enough. He just isn't that quick, his first touch just isnt good enough, same with technical ability, dribbling and shooting. I dislike Gerrard, but he has been a better player than Rooney throughout his career, and there's a gap, way he carried Liverpool to a champions league win... and Fergie apparently doesn't rate him as a top top player, so Rooney clearly isn't.

I've never seen someone in such denial.
