The bulk of this is likely to have been agents fees, which for the 2018/19 season was in the region of £44m. That figure was, by far, the highest in the Premier League and 63% higher than second placed Chelsea.

Vidal the latest midfielder to be shown the door by Barcelona. Fabrizio Romano says the club are in negotiations to terminate his contract.
So that’s now Rakitic, Vidal and Arthur all set to leave.

Since the beginning of March, #lfc have paid out nearly £155m on wages alone. Liverpool typically earn around £3m per home game and haven't played in front of a live Anfield attendance since the Champions League exit to Atletico Madrid six months ago. #awlive [liverpool echo]
