Said hes embarrassed for him and he got advice once, leave football before football leaves you. Said he should walk, find a club in the MLS or Saudi, its a shame seeing such a legend and top player being a laughing stock every game like he is now.

Have to agree to a point, hes way past it for this level atleast.

Funniest thing is he still has 2 years left on his contract.

Sums United up post Fergie that they gave a near 31 year old a 4 year contract on mega wages.

Was so surprised at this I had to double check it and you’re right, he’s contracted until 2026.

Fvcking LOL.

He was dribbled past last night more than VVD has in his entire Liverpool career. True story.

Some interesting stats there, about all the players. All things considered, Jota has been a monster when fit those season. Outscored people like Diaz who has over twice the number of minutes. Only 3 behind Nunez. His 4 assists only bettered by four other players.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no denying his quality, but he just can't stay fit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even better if you actually watch him play, he rarely offeres much in games but pops up with a goal out the blue after being invisible for most the game. Opposite with Diaz hes pants infront of goal even worse than Nunez but hes quite heavily involved usually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is true tbh, Diaz isn't a prime Mane, but still very good.

Jota is just a goal scorer, but again takes games to get going.

Casemiro - £60m
Antony - £86m
Mount - £50m
Onana - £50m
Hojlund - £72m

Total = £318m

That list tells you everything what you have to know.
There is no plan behind the signings.

Bright side is Gakpo and Grav have atleast shown glimpses recently that they have what it takes to be a success in the prem with us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Gakpo has been pony for most of his time at the club, however like many of us has been saying, he actually looks good from the left and actually is a goal threat too.

He should never play as CF again IMO and we need to sign another CF, regardless if Jota or Nunez goes.

United have a terrible squad, bar a few players (normally the older ones who are fading anyway).

They need to get rid of most of their squad!

How the hell has Martial been there for almost 10 years lol?

And Rashford is on Gakpo's level lol

Jota has always been a backup at Liverpool. If he were fit all the time he'd likely want to leave or the person he replaced would want to leave, due to lack of game time.
=====
Jota starts most games when fit according to my memory.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he doesn't. He was back up to Firmino, Salah, Mane, even when Firmino wasn't starting and Mane went central, Diaz played left. He was then back up behind Gakpo/Diaz and has been backup behind Nunez/Gakpo and Diaz since Nunez came in. He has never been the starting player since he's been at the club. That's not to see he hasn't got a load of games both starts and sub appearances but to say he's always started when fit is fabrication.

He's generally the one to miss out in the big games also, when everyone is fit.

He's been on the bench 58 times if the stats I'm reading are correct and of the 92 games he's started his been subbed off in 62 of them.

This is not the stats of a starting player and he shouldn't be a starter for us considering his dips in form and injury record. A perfect backup however.

£350k a week apparently.

They were also that confident he'd be a success they have an option for another year

People often forget Jota went without a goal for ages at one point for us. Dread to think the reaction if Nunez did that.

Wasn't he injured on and off for most of that? Also coincided with the team being not so good?

I don't feel like Jota has been a back up tbh. He starts enough games when fit to not be a back up. The subs on and off and bench time is because he needs to be managed a d can't just be thrown into every game like Salah. It's an excuse used often for Thiago but its more apt for Jota so this is like saying Thiago is a back up, which he isn't of course. Jota rarely starts two games in a row. I think he shoulda been the tip of our attack if he could be relied on to stay fit, which I doubt, so we might have to assess options. We need more finishers in the team and he's our most accurate and lethal of all the guys upfront. Give him the chances Nunez and Salah have been missing and his numbers would be through the roof. No way Jota misses with the kind of regularity we have been seeing. The most likely to convert a chance and the stats back it up too. Just my view though.

Not really for me. As you said there was injuries and bad form. He's been scoring goals the rest of this career with us and only Salah can really challenge his numbers when fit right now.

Can't remember the articles but I've read the day after a game they only train within a small area so players don't have to sprint. They also monitor players' sleep schedules/patterns and look at how gut health can improve performance.

No idea if we already do that sort of stuff but would assume not if journos are making a deal out of it.

So no Indian takeaway before games?

The chit show at United is most amusing

Check out robs McLaren article

I absolutely love how shiitt United are, and its gonna take an absolute miracle of a manager to turn that horror show around. Those players will see off any manager that makes them have to work hard too.

Its fecking fantastic Irish.

It's incredible how quickly Casemiro's dropped off.
Last year Utd were a significantly better side with him in it, he looked a decent signing albeit ludicrously short term.

This year he looks absolutely broken. I thought Fabinho's drop off was astonishingly quick but Casemiro is right up there with him.

It's not the same at all with Thiago. Thiago was a starter and only didn't start when injured. In fact many criticised the fact he was starting so many games as they knew he couldn't handle it and would get injured.

The comparison with Thiago is far-fetched. Both have had injury problems but one was a starter and the other covered players for injuries, rests and loss of form, as well as coming off the bench in about a third of his appearances.
