TAA knew he wasn't gonna sign a long time ago. You're still coming out with "he announced he wanted to leave" as if he didn't play us to enable his move to Madrid on a free because Madrid didn't want to pay for him. It's even a well know Madrid modus operandi to take players in that manner. Lets be real here.

It's a contract situations and a contract negotiation, same as TAA.

We went through this same process with TAA. If TAA doesn't sign then it's all good, but you are already sharpening the claws in case Konate does the same thing.

Konate is arguably more important for us than even TAA and it's not like we are offering him the world like we did with TAA.

That makes it even worse. They weren't prepared to pay any money for his services and even offered him less money and fact is, he allowed it all to get what he wanted, whether some people want to believe it or not.

At least get us a transfer fee. Even a 20m Real Madrid exit clause is cheap for a talent like him and would have gone a long way. He then tells Madrid to pay the 20m if they really want him instead of just spread his legs for them like a hoe, if you excuse my language.

It is irrelevant how important TAA was and nobody is sharpening claws in case Konate leaves on a free. People are responding to the actual thing that’s occurring, Konate stating how important he believes he is and how he hasn’t been perceived to be and the fact he has said that he has received an offer and his agent is working with the club. Therefore people are hoping an agreement can be made and hoping he isn’t going too high.

You’re drawing comparisons where there aren’t any for some reason that only you know. Any way I’m out, this is weird.

Based on the comments in the last few hours this might not be a popular opinion, but I wouldn't be overly fussed if Konate were sold.

I think he's a very good player, excellent at his best. But he's also injured a lot for a CB - this season was his best to date and he still missed 8 games (according to transfer mkt data). I also think he's a little inconsistent, often the poorer form is when returning from injury tbf but it's still a problem.

He's negotiating off the back of his best season in terms of performances, injuries and consistency. If he were to maintain those levels then yeah, he's worth £200k. I'm not hugely confident though.

If he were to be sold and we could replace him with someone like Murillo or Bastoni or even Branthwaite, I wouldn't be that bothered.

Konate is key to our system. His absence is very much noticed when he is not around with his ability to cover the right side and also win the ball high up in the pitch. Very hard to find a 6ft4 machine with pace and power.

His passing has improved so much this season too. He is worth 200k a week which is the same amount Saliba is on.

Spot on. There aren't many defenders out there like him. We need defenders who can defend in a high line 1v1. Lukeba has the same attributes but isn't tall enough.

I was a big fan of Pacho before he went to PSG.

The salary he's earning at madrid is less if reports are to be believed. I find it interesting that his salary at madrid had been leaked yet weve heard nothing about the size of the signing on fee he will be recieving. Thats been kept close to chest.

Call me a cynic but I'd suspect that would be so the narrative "hes not leaving for the money" holds more water.

Just look at this nonsense. You could at least just stick to the football. I think things about people and people think things about me, we don't have to keep telling each other about it all the time. I honestly couldn't give a rats ass what you think about me but I value your opinion when you talk football.
