Looks like he decided he would drive into crowds and blasted the horn to get them to move. When they began hitting his car as they obviously felt treated he began getting aggressive making quick back and forward movements, causing people to have to jump out of the way, even lightly clipping some. They then obviously were enraged and began attacking the car and whether in a rage the driver decided to floor it into people intentionally or not will obviously be determined by the police.

There were numerous cars parked on that road, maybe he was already inside the cordon? My guess is that with the type of vehicle it was he could have been an Uber driver or something going to pick people up. Obviously he had no right to be doing that in that location at that time, but who knows what goes through peoples heads or what his personal circumstances were. Something obviously triggered him and he either went into a blind panic or rage.

The one small crumb of comfort is that it doesn’t seem to be pre meditated. Not much consolation to those involved, but in the bigger picture it’s the best out of the two scenarios.

I've read that the road was one of the closed areas but in the same bit they had said he may have had the car parked there for a day or two and came to get it when the parade had passed but not the crowd? and when he tried to drive away this all happened, no idea if this is true or not and if the Police would have removed parked cars when closing the area?
