I still wonder if we might pivot for Gyokeres this summer now Isak is off the time.

Could probably get Baleba and Gyokeres for the same price as Isak tbh. More of a risk for sure, but he really does bang in the goals.

Not sure about Ekitike but striker market is dead

Probably have to wait a season for Isak/Alvarez and rely on Wirtz false 9/ Jota and Diaz upfront. It’s a risk though.

It is relying on Salah to put in similar numbers. Knowing him he probably could but he is 33 soon and has AFCON.

I don’t think we can go a season without replacing Nunez. No point getting Wirtz to provide the creative spark we need, and not having a number 9 on the end of it. We desperately need to not be reliant on Salah’s output.

Isak aside, any striker we go for will be unproven in the Prem. He is proven in England though which proves something, considering he’s about half the price of Isak, and stops Arsenal getting him, we should be looking closely at the signing.

Not convinced by Ekitike from what I’ve seen personally, he’s had one good season at the top level and that’s it really. Don’t think he would be a good fit for our team either, but if Slot decides he’s the man then I’m fine by it.

My order of preference would be

Alvarez
Gyokores
Ekitike

And then even Alvarez I’ve had severe doubts about in the past as to his all round game. Quality finisher for sure but that’s not enough in today’s game. Striker market is dead as Kash says.

I thought Napoli fecked him over last year but we’ll see this summer. With Isak moving, on paper he’s clearly the best option.
