He might be going the wrong way with this but the club should really have rewarded him with better terms. Can't be good for him if Nunez is on double his salary and has been useless while Diaz played a massive role for us winning the title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's apparently on 70k a week which is peanuts really for a player of his calibre.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought that was showed to be false???

I continue to be baffled by Osimhen - a natural goalscorer, available but nobody is interested. He must be an absolute pr*ck

Not a finance guy but does anyone know why we are in 12 place for maximum pre tax loss of 75m before we violate PSR?

Chelsea and City we know find loopholes and are almost at 300m. United 141m, Arsenal 97m, even Forest are at 85m.

I saw that as well.

Doesn't make sense at all.

I said this months ago when we were first linked with him, but was told it was all Napoli’s fault. Maybe not….

Well he's apparently refusing to accept terms offered to him by a Saudi club. Can see what his motivation is.

posted 1 week, 2 days ago

🚨 INFO: Luis Díaz, who is also linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, is clear that if he leaves Liverpool it will only be to go to Barça. The Colombian, like his father, has always followed the Catalan club, @MundoDeportivo.

If you look at what was reported last year it's difficult not to think Napoli fecked him over.

They wanted him sold, he'd agreed terms with a Saudi club and then at the last minute Napoli hiked the price and the deal collapsed. They then told him he had no squad number and couldn't play for them.

Napoli not exactly an innocent party here. But there's clearly more to it otherwise they'd be half a dozen big clubs all over him.

Liverpool (estimated pre-tax loss limit in 2024-25: £75m)

Despite breaking even since Fenway Sports Group bought the club in October 2010, Liverpool’s pre-tax result for 2023-24 was their worst ever — £57.1m was shipped, which on top of a £9m deficit a year earlier put the club’s combined loss at £66.1m for the first two years of the current PSR cycle.

Liverpool haven’t been funded by equity recently, so their losses are limited to £15million over three seasons. They do, however, have chunky allowable costs. The club’s infrastructure accounts for around £16m in annual depreciation charges, while they also run one of the more expensive youth setups in England.

We estimate Liverpool could have lost £75million in their 2024-25 accounting period (which ended on Saturday) and still have been compliant with Premier League rules. In reality, with booming revenues and player sale profits of £41.9m (around double the size of 2023-24), Liverpool were considerably more likely to have been profitable last season than to have strayed anywhere close to their loss limit.

I get the sense Diaz (and his dad) really want this Barca move but he’s just not gonna get it.

We are in a really strong position in terms of negotiations and understandably relaxed about it all.

posted 1 week, 2 days ago

I think Diaz will go, in his mind he only has a few years left at the top level and he would want to play for Barca like a lot of latin players want to

posted 1 week, 2 days ago

Only way he goes Barca is a player swap I'd say as there's no way they could actually afford the money needed.

Can't imagine there's any player we'd want that Barca would be happy to let go though.

posted 1 week, 2 days ago

My guess is he’ll go to Barca on a free in a couple of years. They’re not against signing players in their 30’s.
