I think anyone (footballer or otherwise) who gets 'sleeves' or body tattoos are utter morons. It'll soon be out of fashion and they'll feel like dix.
he line "One centimetre from glory" adds to the tattoo's hair-shirt quality. "It illustrates the depth of despair this individual is feeling," says David Fletcher, a sports psychologist at Loughborough University

Great insight from a Loughborough psychologist, no wonder England are so crap at sports.
Rumour is that Dave Mackay had one on his arm.
A "love heart scroll' with "Mother in-law" written in the scroll.
"I think that the spurs players tended to go to a big local tattoo artist (and a big spurs fan) in muswell hill for their ink, anyone know if this is still the case?"
Pity we are not in the 70s.
The Spurs players could have popped across the road to the tattoo shop on the corner of Park Lane and Willoboughy Lane.
Saw that article earlier!
Ronaldo deserves kudos for the amounting blood he gives too ^^
Along with the op he paid for, and the odd haircut he had done so the boy wouldn't feel self conscious about his scar!
A class act!

Fair play to Ronaldo. It's one thing to just give a load of money to charity but giving blood is a whole other sacrifice.
Cheryls tattoo is facking stupid..
Deserves to die from ink poisoning for that!

"but giving blood is a whole other sacrifice"
Only of time (30 mins end to end at the right places) .
Repeatedly having tattoos done reduces the times you can give blood (AFAIK if in the period between donations then you get declined) .

Time is of far more value to footballers than money.

Their Monday to Friday 9-5 work regime + commute time really eats into that, eh.

This.
Ronaldo does a lot of awesome things that get very little press in this country.
A lot of footballers do. I.e. Drogbas hospitals and Bellamys football academy's in Africa
It's a shame it's not better publicised. It's almost as if the media want us to have a dislike of footballers...
without the risk of sounding gay, but how ripped is tim howard

I have a friend who plays PL football who I've known since being at nursery and he does charity or community work at least twice a week for an afternoon. You don't see it in the news though.
As far as I am aware the same goes for almost all professional footballers.

I've got a mate who has that picture on the wall in his workout room.. He has a lot of images like that for "inspiration" he's majorly ripped now too (he wasn't when he started two years ago) so it must work..
But it's a little bit creepy when you walk in!
all i'd say is due to popularity....its very difficult to be original now.....the standard sleeve is the 'religious' one....and every facker has it......!!!!

I bet the artist had other ideas on how to get her bum numb for that tattoo.
People say "Oh they'll just feel stupid when they're old". Fact is, so many people will have tattoos when they're old that they won't feel stupid at all.
I had no idea Tim Howard had THAT under his shirt. (The tattoos I mean, not the muscle tone). Fantastic work that.
