Where's the outrage and protests? Proper ethnic cleansing going on there. A woman speaking in Iraqi parliament spoke about execution of 500 people in cold blood.

There is plenty of outrage over it. The reason it's not public in the form of protests is because pretty much the whole western world and their citizens see ISIS as an abomination, and their governments don't actively support them (the opposite, if anything) hence there is no governmental/societal stance against which to protest.

But I think there should be more protests against the UK/US ties with Saudi Arabia, who spread even more death and instability throughout the Middle East than Israel. I would argue their rulers are more worthy of being deposed than Saddam or Gaddafi. They are a cancer of the Middle East.

Are you Sunni?
---------------------
I don't like to ascribe myself to any sect. I believe those sects are historically borne out of political rather than theological differences. My parents are from the Kurdish region of Iraq and I have no interest in sectarian issues.
It isn't.
And whilst anyone supports one other another it won't improve.

sizzle
Bloomin fundamentalists.
Not directed at anyone, but I trust the banners and protests are gearing up to defend human rights in Iraq and Syria, where 100 times more innocents have died, compared to the awful Gaza/Israeli situation.
And Christians fleeing for their lives in vast numbers as Islamic State indulge their sectarian bloodlust.
That is one of the big problems in the Middle East.Groups backing other groups because of a shared faction. What you tend to get is two extremes in the conflict zones.A dictatorial leader fighting an extreme Islamist group. And the probably moderate majority caught in the middle.
--------------
I totally agree. Were it not for popular support amongst Sunni townsfolk/tribespeople, ISIS probably would not have been able to gain a foothold in Iraq. It's probably not even in their own best interests, but unfortunately to them sectarian/tribal affiliations override anything else.
(ISIS being the exception who kill everyone, including Christians, Yazidis, pro-Assad Shi'ites, and anti-Assad Sunnis)
Why do we have to start an Isis/IS thread, when this thread was about a footballer, initially?
I often find "start a thread" comments are deflections.
Why are some folk talking about Fundamentalist U.S Christians,on this thread???
Just sayin.
Saw a message on one of my fb sites last night.
I shít you not but she was saying how a missile was dflected into the sea my the hand of god and that its a sure sign that if you dare mess with israel then you are messing with god
And even more amazing she was getting support from her fellow christian brigade, it is truly scary how ignorant they can be and to even celebrate gods ations when thousands are dying is just phenomenal.
That's the nature of politics threads
I think it's healthy to discuss all these issues publicly, none of my friend circles take any interest in these issues and would much rather talk about what they watched last night on Netflix or what they got up to over the weekend, so this is the only place I really have to turn to
renoog
I heard some sunni tribal leaders will turn on Isis/IS once the Shi'ite leadership has been removed or reformed?
The Kurdish fighters at least stood their ground, although they appear have pulled out in northern Iraq, leaving Christians vulnerable.
I wonder how many Christian jihadists will flock to save them?
This is the type of double standards we see from elements of the argument.
This divisive moron (who speaks sense a lot of time) using hate speech to fight for "Palestinians".
Imagine a Christian or atheist politician encouraging or declaring a city in UK a "Muslim free zone" because of the likes Al Qaeda, ISIS, and Boko Haram? There'll be an outrage. Very soon he'd be calling for Israelis to be murdered..

It is well known that ISIS are sponsored and funded by Saudi, Qatar and likes of Kuwait..
Again, where's the outrage? Where are the protests?
