Cinci - I completely agree. Football has been ruined by the Premiership!!
Being a football fan has lost it's magic because going to games these days just isn't the same.
Agree again Cinci, it is totally irrational to want to be in this league. Most weeks end in disappointment and fans are almost relieved to be out of cups so you can focus on the staying in this league. It's not so long we were in the championship and it was fun.
However when we won at Old Trafford last year and should have won at Stamford Bridge, nothing tops the euphoric feeling you get on days like that. It's not so long ago Wolves won at Anfield, just how good did tha feel?
Have to agree as well Cinci, I used to love going to the footie from my first game in 1980, to even when we dropped to the third tier. At least then you had hope that winning the title was possible, but now it is trying to be the best of a bad bunch below the top 6/8 clubs. Wouldn't it be great if we could return to those days!
Yeah even Norwich were up there challenging with the likes of Villa and Everton, who were always there or thereabouts before it all became about money and made it impossible for the rest of us to dream.
I honestly despise the Premier League and the idea that mid-table mediocrity is acceptable because the financial consequences of relegation are too great.
To me there's more to football than stagnating in the middle of a league and fighting relegation every season.
It is a very sorry state of affairs
As you guys say, we seem to have bought into the clubs financial status as being what matters most now.
It's still a tribal game though, that will never die, & that's why you will always follow your team.
You'll struggle, of that I'm relatively confident. Whether you'll stay up is debatable. But we've had many before claiming how much better there team is than ours. Yet in reality almost all would love to swap positions.
Try and enjoy the season, always seem to do well at leicester too
Ok well I'm relatively confident that we will finish above you because I've been around football for long enough and supported Leicester for long enough to know that this team is something very special in the making. You write us off and for the record your "always seem to do well at Leicester" only accounts for the last few times we've played in the last decade, before that it was always 3, 4 or 6 points against Albion!
Leicester have signed this summer: Upson, Ulloa and Albrighton
Im sorry but one is 4 years past-it, one is a reject of a poor Villa side and the other is a decent championship striker. Trust me, I wouldnt touch any of them with a barge pole.
Albrighton delivered the most amount of crosses in the league last season in a poor Villa side.
Upson was Brighton's player of the year and has been brought in as a squad player on a free.
Ulloa is a very good Championship player, 23 goals in 50 games is more than decent but he's also more than decent in La Liga too (which according to Fifa ratings is the best league in the world) scoring 39 in 90.
I would say his stats are a hell of a lot better than Ideye's and you're completely blind if you think he's a better signing, or deluded!!
I wouldn't touch any of your squad with a barge pole except for Brunt because he can whip in a good ball but other than that no thanks!!
As usual, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Let's see how the season unfolds.
Let's hope you are still around come May next year, as these comments could come back to haunt you!
They sure could but I have full faith in this team because I've seen how good we are but I'll give you a little run down if you like because you obviously know nothing about our team.
Schmeichel is definitely good enough. Wes Morgan has been one of the most consistent Championship centre halves for the last decade. Wasilewski played 147 times for Anderlecht, who are better than West Brom and he's regularly played European football between 2007-13. Also got 60 caps for Poland so I'd say he's good enough. Liam Moore plays for the U21's and I expect will play for England one day. He's quick, good in the air, composed on the ball and reads the game well. We're all excited to see him progress to he next level because he definitely has the ability. Upson was Brighton's player of the year and looked back to his best.
A few of our players have come through our youth team, like Schlupp at left back who is very quick and looked very comfortable against Everton, as did de Laet who was the fastest player in the league.
We got him from United along with two other quality players, who that most likely would have flourished under Ferguson but they we're let go and we've benefited without doubt.
Ings got player of the season because of the goals he scored but Drinkwater ran our midfield and made over 2000 passes some 400 more than the closest other player, with a completion rate of 82% and an average of 18m. To possess those stats in the Championship is phenomenal. Him and James, also from United formed a quality partnership and they're both Premiership quality.
Anthony Knockheart and Riyad Mahrez are both young, very skilful wingers and Mahrez in particular is very quick. They're both Premiership quality. Albrighton delivered the most amount of crosses in the league in a poor Villa team, he'd lost his way but who hasn't at Villa? He's definitely good enough.
Vardy we got from non-league and was a huge gamble but he's quality, knows how to score and is absolutely rapid. He terrorised defences by running at them and got brought down for so many penalties and defenders in the Premiership are going to struggle with his pace too.
Although offside last night, he tucked the ball in nicely one on one with the keeper, very composed. His pace also got him in between the keeper to nick it off him and square it for GTF to tap home.
Nugent is a quality footballer. He scored 20 and had 12 assists. He's very technically gifted and a lot of his goals are passed into the net. He rarely scores poor goals but scored a lot of penalties last season which still need to be scored. He scored a fantastic volley from the edge of the box last night from a ball that Drinky dinked over the top but he was just offside.
Ulloa obviously scored 23 goals in 50 games for an average Brighton team, no reason why he can't score goals in the Premier League if he managed 39 in 90 in La Liga.
Talk of Sol Bamba coming back who is good enough? Lewis Holtby is class and Troy Deeney would be a gamble but no more than Ideye!!
You can't achieve 102 points, score 84 goals, win nine on the bounce, win the league by nine points with six games to go and have every opposing manager saying we're a country mile above the rest of the division, without playing quality football, being very hard to beat and working extremely hard for each other. So I really don't think we're going to struggle like you think we are because we are a very good team.
I think it will be you guys that will be surprised come May and I hope you're both still around too and then get Wolves, Forest and Derby up here for next season, Birmingham can go and give Cov some company ha ha 👍
I couldn't be bothered to read all of that. I'm sure many of your constructed arguments as to why you won't struggle next season are valid in your own mind.
Out of interest, how many of your players have played regularly in the Premier League?
How many of Swansea or Southampton's did? End of argument!!
I wasn't asking about Swansea or Southampton
Most of QPR's have but we finished 22 points ahead of them 👍
Your point was they haven't played in the Premier League so will obviously struggle so I reverted you to Swansea and Southampton whose players also hadn't played in the Prem before but haven't had any trouble adapting and those same Southampton players are now being signed for ridiculously big fees. We're more like Southampton than you'll ever be!!
Konchesky but he's unlikely to play that much, Upson but same again and Nugent so what's your point? I guess I've already answered it though!!
How many of albion's players did well in the premier league last season terrie dear?

How do you know what my point was? Are you psychic?
It was just a question. You assume an argument when there is none. A sign of a very unstable and volatile individual.

Speaking of unstable individuals!
I'll try a different approach arro. Who is your best player?
Can I have a short answer to my question though please? Your posts tend to be overly long and not very interesting to anyone other than Leicester fans.
