Odd game so far. Way too many long balls, and there were a few times where there was plenty of space for players to run into but did a sideways pass instead.
fletcher and cleverley should be no where the first team.
rooney and rvp as a front 2 is rubbish maade even worse with mata. A front 3 devoid of any pace and so are ultimately isolated cause of the quality of our passing
we need to switch to 433/4231
Its just so pedestrian. No-one in the team is capable of consistently running past his man. We've done it twice. Valencia which created the goal, and Young, who for the first time I think since he joined went donwn the outside and crossed it with his left foot.
I'd change things by bringing RVP and Mata off and replacing them with Januzaj and Welbeck, Playing them either side of Rooney in a 343, getting them to run at the Sunderland defence. Would be good to change the CM's but there isn't much of an option at the moment.

DP I like thee odd whinge but if this is how or board is going to be, I may leave it
Our defenders have played well, the goal they scored is rvp's fault, no one blames him.
Just stupid comments about defenders. What did they do wrong?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been banging on that Blackett is doing well. However, you cannot defend fletcher and Cleverly. If you want to leave, then ok.
That was shocking. Watching Valencia, Young, Cleverley and Fletcher is painful.
How many times have RVP, Mata and Rooney actually touched the ball?
Too sloppy and ponderous in possession. We need cm's quickly because as soon as we get an injury or two in cm we are faced with watching this.
Muppet alert! There have been those on here that say rooney can't play mid. They are the advocates of what you see today.Fletcher and Cleverley are league 1 at best. Digging rvp, would rather he took free kicks than scouser all day long. Don't be deluded about de'gea as that goal last week would have been saved by a brave 9yo. wake up and stop talking sh ite about formations and signings.

Honestly, I can't blame the defenders at all, if you're going to be pressurised continuously mistakes are going to be made.
Fletcher and Cleverley are meant to protect the game from going to them, but they may as well not be there.
How much are we screaming to have Keane and Scholes in the middle?
I thought the goal was Valencia fault
Fletcher and Cleverly look Not just poor, but stupid with the ball. Fergie's stubbornness and his silly "no value on the market" is catching us up.
It looks more like a 5-3-2 than a 3-5-2 here. Strange being so defensive against Sunderland.
I am not defending Fletcher or Cleverley but Smalling, Jones and Blackett.
New formation, new manager, new tactics, they are doing well
They have no protection from midfield

It has pace, it's the way the team is playing. Just because those players aren't as fast as Walcott doesn't mean they don't have pace.
The defence have been ok but the inexperience is certainly showing and Young is certainly no fullback.
Fletcher is losing the ball cheaply while Cleverly is as unadventurous as ever.
Mata and Rooney need to get more involved.
We have serious problems in the centre of midfield. Rather than play that clown Fletcher, why not promote some kid to play in midfield because we are playing with 10 men
72mil di maria will sort you out.
I'm still amazed Valencia crossed a ball
Here's my in depth thoughts at half time: Young is sh!!!t.
Where would D Maria fit in, in this system?
People watch that game and blame defenders for what?
What exactly?
TOOR
This is 100 % correct. The point of 3 at the back is for the wing backs to push on.
I don't get the logic of packing out the defence against Sunderland to be honest, the old adage of the best form of defence is attack springs to mind. Sunderland are getatable.
1 - Manchester United have won only one of their last eight Premier League games played in the Sunday 4pm slot. Nerves.
Rather than play Fletcher who offers nothing, why not take him off, play Kagawa and score more than sunderland
I think we look poor at the back, being opened up far too easily. The positive thing is that Smalling and jones have started to come forward with the ball a little bit more.
We look poor out wide with Valencia and Young for me.
