Still early to say really.
I think the fact Falcao left Atletico for Monaco says a lot about him. Maybe it was just a one off mistake but I think it was clear to everyone the move was motivated by money, rather than the chance to stay with Atletico and fight for trophies.
Ya that is a fair point about Falcao but he could have stayed in Monaco this season to pick up the same and no one can question his attitude on the pitch imo.
In fairness, I don't think Falcao had much choice in going to Monaco because of the dodgy ownership.
And bare in mind, the Monaco project was an extremely attractive one until the owner had to pull the plug.
Yeah, that's why I say maybe it was a one off.
Although it's hard to knock a player for wanting money when they have probably grown up poor. Probably a lot harder for us to comprehend.
Indeed, but I don't think staying at Atletico was an option because they had to sell because they needed the money and they didn't own him outright anyway.
And he like many others probably thought their was no way Atletico could overtake the big two or reach a champions league final
Monaco in the longer term might have been a better shout of CL football than Leti were, although its hard to say whether it was the money or other reasons.
When you take a top talent and you give them the right attitude you get one hell of a player. Players like Suarez and Ronaldo have the right attitude (well Suarez in terms of workrate and such anyway) and that is part of what makes them so special, without that they would just be regular world class players.
It is what makes a team as well, a team full of decent hard working talents will beat a lazy star filled team far more often than talent alone suggests they should...
I think Falcao will really come into his own if and when we stop playing 2 strikers ahead of Rooney.
Let Falcao and RVP battle it out for the #9 spot... Rooney and Mata for the #10 spot and let's see a balanced side.
Apart from his goal I though Di Maria was quiet. Looks more dangerous when playing though the middle and less predictable.
Still not sure how he runs as fast with the ball as he does without it?
Messi and Aguero are the same. Must be an Argentine thing.

The one thing di Maria is not is predictable.
To the article the very best players are some of the hardest workers. Look at the likes of aguero, di Maria, Suarez, messi, falcao, Costa,
Not very often did he cut inside Hibbert yesterday, hobbert kept showing him the line and reducing his contribution to crosses. Like Sterling at Liverpool if he plays central he is more dangerous.
Took his goal well but could have hurt us more

He produced a couple of crosses where we should have done a lot better on. The mata one springs to mind where he should have hit it. He scored the one time he came inside. He has also done it in previous matches coming inside
i agree with op
But as someone above said, we need to sacrifice a striker to have a more balanced side.
Rooney as #10, falcao as #9, Di maria as #7, and adnan as #11. That is the 4wd line i want to see. All very hardworking and gifted.

Winter's coming.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on.
and it really worries me.
sometimes the over excitable get to run rampant on these boards.
Fabregas, for example, is a classic 2 good months, 3 anonymous months and a final 2 month flourish when it is all too late type of player. Di Maria, Falcao and Herrera may wellbe similar.
Utd may well be the first team in Prem history where every player wears gloves come January.
I always ran around too much for gloves... I usually run around too much to require a shirt either when I could take it off....
Maybe I just have a lower tolerance than other people.

Completely agree. Not just because I think we are overcrowding the top with strikers, but because we need to get Di Maria further up the pitch, and get a true CM partner for Blind.

I think that's what is being suggested.
