Why does every interesting article have to get dragged off topic?

If you two want to carry on sniping, make an article.

.............

I am quite happy to discuss the article subject with you Ji.

What are your views?

I don't think air strikes will do any good at all. Air strikes have been going on for a while now and ISIS seem no weaker, more spread out and have enough propaganda to last a life time. While no one wants to see ISIS beheading people and the like, the UK should not paint a target on it's own back, just to back up another country. Let France have their justice, if that is what the French people want.

posted on 1/12/15

I agree with that for the most part Ji.

But the UK is already a target of ISIS. Make no mistake, they will make an attack in the UK somewhere, sometime. And it will be done by UK grown maniacs that have decided to follow the cause.

From the way you talk on here it seems you've forgotten everything you ever knew about football
.................
There are very few people on here who disagree with my opinions on football.
You, 1982 and Ji pretty much sums it up. Oh and of course the usual WUMS like Mamba.
---
Surely you need to come up with more believable lies. Majority of this site has disagreed with you very often and you've been in more arguments on here than the house of parliament.

Like clockwork, the idiot known as Mamba arrives.

And no airstrike can possibly stop that, only further it.

As long as there is oil in the middle east, the politics behind all this is too strong. The government don't give a damn about ISIS or the tiny % of the UK population they may one day kill... they were likely rejoicing about the Paris attacks... It justified 1200 new employees at GCHQ to "fight terrorism" and allowed Cameron to get involved in this mess alot quicker than he had hoped.

I don't think any justification was needed.

Protecting the counties interests and safety go hand in hand sometimes.

posted on 1/12/15

Safety doesn't come into it, imo.. If it did, then the safest approach would be far smarter than air strikes... The government, especially the Tories, only care about protecting their interests, eg, oil.

Surely cutting money is the first step in this whole thing. The fact that NATO allies Turkey are bombing the Kurds who have had the most success against ISIS on the ground.

Another thing to consider with this if/when ISIS are defeated, the Kurds will surely demand international recognition for their state (already have declared a decfato autonomous region. Are the allies and the Russians going to carve out large parts of Turkey, Syria and/or Iraq after they fought so bravely against ISIS. There are wars within wars, within wars in this thing which is why there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. Cameron wanting air strikes just stinks of "at least it looks like we're doing something" without actually any strategy to deal with any of the underlying issues or the role of the Saudis.

That is what the French thought Ji. They have cut back on their intelligence services for years, apparently.

I also think the Government are concerned about protecting the people. if they don't, they won't get elected again.

Back to the French.

If indeed the West ends up going in on the ground to take out ISIS, the French probably have the best army in the world for dealing with desert warfare.

---------------------
You are highlighting why this is political. Anyone with a braincell knows the air strikes will have zero affect on our safety (other than making us less safe).

But politics is rarely about common sense. They know the daily mail readers and red tops are crying out for people to stop this big bad wolf and will win votes by doing the least safe or intelligent option.. the fact that it also plays into their hands in terms on middle east power is just gravy.

OP

I opposed war in iraq, kabul, libya, and now isis are getting away with evil, and the left has not said how to save isis victims, shia muslim, cross follower, jew, turk, kurd, yazi d I,gay,or people in any city they target.

The anti war mob seem to forget iraq is being bombed, and isis and assad laugh in the face of corbyn type clowns.

How do you stop assad or isis, peacenikz?

Answers on a lentil,hmmmm

Of course it is political. Every decision the Government makes is political.

Aren't Isis slaughtering innocent Muslims?

Surley their should be support from the Muslim council
Of great Britian to fight these people.

Loz

It appears to me that they are slaughtering anyone who does not agree to their modus operandi.

Yup Lq,isis hate shia muslims more than anyone, possibly.
A muslim guy outside an oldham mosque today spouted the usual thick line that people here alienate muslims, and that is why muslims get radical,go to syria, join isis and kill muslims........hmmmm

True vid,and both assad and isil have been killing and attacking millions, but the corbyn and do not bomb syria luvvies missed that news item.
Only when Cam gets busy do they wake up to oppression and death, the hypocrites.

I don't think you have to be a Tory to understand how far out of touch with reality Corbyn and his like really are.

Something a lot of Labour supporters accuse the toffs of being, by the way.

Why are we not bombing in countries like Kenya?

This has little to do with safety... But absolutely nothing to do with ethics

Funny how saudi muslim's are ok to slate now,per The leftist thinkers.

Shame on those who watch assad and isis murder, and only now comment.

Self loathing cowards

We need to get rid of Assad, he's the main reason IS are in Syria. Get rid of him and the Syrians will deal with IS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Isis does need destroying but then the problem is what other form of brutality replaces them

posted on 1/12/15

Getting rid of Assad might lead to World War 3 as Russia are protecting him. Very complicated situation

Assad is fighting against ISIS you idiots

posted on 1/12/15

Best thing to do now would be to support Assad.

US intervened because he used chemical weapons when actually he didn't, it was a rebel group.

The only group against Assad I trust is the Kurds. Really think Assad is quite low on the priority list right now
