Are we right to assume Baylan is C'Baoth by the way?

I did look at this when the trailer first came out, and although I am guessing some similarities (he doesn't like killing Jedi it seems (although he will)) I don't think he is a clone, just a disgruntled ex jedi

I forget now, but the C'baoth in the Zahn books is the clone right? So where is the original. Could he be around or was he long dead?

Also, being thagt I am not as well versed in SW history as many of you, was Thrawn created by Zahn?

If so, how come we are running with him and many other characters from those stories now when Spielberg pretty much ignored those books?

In theory should have been long dead - although the original of course could be long-lived, but he went missing in a Jedi expedition I believe several hundred years before even the prequels, though not as far back as say the Old Republic

Nope, Thrawn is an Alien (and no he isn't related to Cad Bane) - C'baoth was left to protect one of the Emperor's many stashes of cool sheet he left around the universe, the one Thrawn specifically knew about was related to clones. Though by all accounts old man Palp was a bit of alienest, so the fact that he made Thrawn a grand admiral by all accounts was a huge deal

Sorry completely misread (its 2am here), yes as far as I am aware Thrawn was created by Zahn, but like with the black library, SW authors can ask to use characters. Hence although there are hundreds of EU books they generally "share the history" which is super cool imo.

So I think people like Dave are trying to de-retcon the cool characters after Disney decided that everything post rotj was no longer canon and create this now crappy universe, rather than use all the characters that had been created. Also Zahn is a producer on Ahsoka I believe

Thrawn is Zahns creation. Despite Disney intially rejecting anything from EU, they are now bringing in certain characters and elements to fit the story that is currently being told.

I believe the original is dead but I agree that Baylan may be playing a C'boath type role.

We know Disney are trying to incorporate Zahns trilogy but they are changing certain characters and story lines, which is starting to get messy.

So far:
Ahsoka = Luke
Sabine = Leia
Baylan = C'boath
Baylan's padawan = Mara Jade

Barriss - would be interesting from the historic rivalry angle but she’s dead isn’t she?

Ezra - stoopid. I really hope it’s too stupid even for them.

StarKiller - I know nothing about because I’m not a gamer (not since uni and a mild mario karts addiction) but feels reasonable based on what I’ve read

Known jedi clone - very possible. Don’t know who though. If they’ve made it an Anakin clone then I just despair with the lot of them.

I’m going to go with a curveball that I’ve not seen suggested so just a pure guess. Given they love a gut-shot survivor, I’m guessing Reva.

That would annoy me even more than Ezra. Would make Kanan’s story in rebels completely pointless. His sacrifice was one of highlights of the series.

Plus abandoning your child to go off and be a mercenary for the empire is probably not too Disney friendly!

So done a little digging - and Marrok is credited to a stunt double (Paul Darnell) who has worked on a few things with Dave, he was Timothy Olyphants double in Mando. So looks like not a lady.

However, he does have a striking resemblance to both Kanan/Ezra physically (lets hope this is just coincidence!)

My faith in Filoni is still strong but he's starting to show chinks in the armour.

Starkiller makes the most sense but it won't be the one in the games. It will be a reimagined version, because the game isn't canon. Maybe this Starkiller didn't train with Vader and instead trained with other dark jedi?

Possibly but CW overall has the more high points, in my opinion. I guess it's unfair to compare both, as one covers one of the greatest periods in SW history whilst the other covers a very low key epoch.
