Villa, Higuain, van Persie, Rooney, Drogba, Aguero, Suarez, Tevez, Torres (if he regains his form), and Hernandez is certainly on his way there.

Why is it deluded? I know we're nowhere near the best in the world or even the country at the moment, but these are exciting times for us. We are on the way back up after a shambolic couple of years and there is a buzz around the place. It's easy to go to Barcelona or Real or United and win trophies and obviously a lot of players would do that. But we are currently like a project, working our way back towards the top. And I'm sure there are a lot of players who would relish the challenge.

To be honest I haven't seen or heard anything about Eto'o for a while now. What's he up to these days?

That's why - because a player who is really one of the best in the world would go to one of the best clubs in the world. I know you have a great history but you wouldn't see any of the other top strikers you listed going to a team outside of the CL

I would place Suarez alongside the likes of Negredo, Pato, Di Natele, Adebayor, Llorente, Milito, Falcao, Bent etc

Fact of the matter is that Suarez cannot be world class when there are so many forwards that are better than him, let alone guys that play in different positions. Suarez isn't even the best player at Liverpool, Reina far better at what he does than Suarez is at what he does.

correct me if im wrong but didnt RVP score 20 goals in 19 games last season or something near that while suarez scored 7. RVP also creates a lot of assists and can score brilliant free kicks.

Tevez did.

I like Suarez, if we'd have had him last season I believe we'd have made top four. Was really gutted we didn't get him. Was disappointed with hi performance against spurs - I had no idea how much of a diver he was until then. But he's still a proper class player and would've walked into spurs first 11 last season.

However, I think we're getting a little carried away to suggest he's 'top 5 in the world' - whether we're talking strikers or players. I'm not even sure he'd be in the top 5 strikers in the PL.

A lot of people who apparently don't watch football like to trot out this idea that bale has only has two or three good games. He definitely still needs to improve, but I'd class him as 'potentially world class'.

I think the solution is - we keep bale, Liverpool keep Suarez.

Tevez, Aguero, Pedro, Rossi, Ibrahimovic so much better than Suarez it isn't even close.

Benzema is quality. Dzeko is quality, I said when he signed he would do better than Suarez and I've been laughed at ever since but he is now on the right track. Far better player than Suarez. Forlan ok maybe not but up until last season he was far better. I'd also have Sanchez, Hernandez, Higuain over him without having to think twice.

suarez can be world class but he isnt yet. to say he is in the top 5 players in the world bracket surely suggest he knows nothing at all about football

You must have a very poor perception of world class if you think a player who isn't in the top 20 players in the world is world class. How many players do you think are world class? Surely that title should be branded to a special few, not 30 odd players?
