Couldn't live there, though. Wouldn't want to learn the language - it's a crap version of Spanish, which is a crap version of Italian.

It's a fecking hard language to learn. Reading and writing is as easy as Spanish, but listening is incredibly difficult, especially where we are in the far southwest.
Imagine trying to learn English in Glasgow.

I've watched it term - thanks for posting.
I've always been impressed by Hannan. He's very eloquent, constructs arguments well, and comes across as one of our more sincere MEPs.
That said, in this case, he doesn't make an argument for the undemocratic nature of EU governance. Whilst we have an unelected, ever-growing and ever more out of touch House of Lords, as well as the first past the post system, shifting boundary lines, uneven constituency numbers and a three-line party whip, I don't think that argument can be made in the UK.
He also didn't (again, because I don't believe it can be done) provide any argument against the fact that the UK will suffer financially in the short to medium-term. As for the long-term, well, only time will tell.
I hope we find our way through what's to come and come out of the other side stronger, and still as close to our European neighbours as we can be

The problem with uneven boundary lines has been tabled by the conservatives in the last parliament and scuppered by the liberals because they could not get a referendum on an elected second house.
There is a lot to be said for the House of Lords in its function. Unelected but serves a very useful check on the excesses of the lower house.
You should be happy with the current state of the boundaries, it allows for labour to have more seats than they should.
