You should be happy with the current state of the boundaries, it allows for labour to have more seats than they should.
No, every time the Tories get a chance they get the Boundaries Commission to amalgamate Inner City constituencies that traditionally vote Labour.
Combining Salford East with Salford West was a brilliant example.
Boris.
That's just wrong.

The problem with uneven boundary lines has been tabled by the conservatives in the last parliament and scuppered by the liberals because they could not get a referendum on an elected second house.
There is a lot to be said for the House of Lords in its function. Unelected but serves a very useful check on the excesses of the lower house.
You should be happy with the current state of the boundaries, it allows for labour to have more seats than they should.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The very same argument about the House of Lords can be made about the Council of the EU. Not that it holds any weight.
And no, I'm not happy about the boundaries. Constituencies should be ditched entirely, groups of MPs should represent small regions, and first-past-the-post should be ditched entirely in favour of a system of proportional representation that would ensure every vote is worth the same as any other.
The quality of a representative democratic system is more important than party politics.
Not the merging of constituencies the Polish thing.
...who are these 'Liberals' you speak of?
..ah, I remember - The party that a golden chance to reassert themselves, post-Clegg bust chose to take a vow of silence.
The great thing about first past the post is it gives strong government. Look at the last parliament, we ended up with the liberals scuppering any proper conservative policies.
The spanish with proportional representation have just spent the last 6 months trying to stitch together a government, they couldn't they are polling again today.
First past the post in this country usually means a government that were not voted in by the majority.

A very interesting speech by Conservative MEP Daniel Hannon. Surprised to see him talking himself out of a job. Whichever side of the fence you're on, it's worth a watch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This needs so much more coverage
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone finally watched it, I put it up three times
Some of the remain people should watch it, and I don't mean that in an inflammatory way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bit late but I have earmarked it for watching. Heard lots of praise for Daniel Hannan's speech.

It's worked very well in nation states across the world, including in Europe. Although I disagreed strongly with a fair chunk (likely most) of its work, it also hardly failed in the UK.
I'd always rather have a more representative, tempered, less ideological government in power personally.
I'd take a coalition over straight conservative rule any day
I do like first past the post. I really don't like coalitions but i do see the benefits of other systems
PR would have had Ukip with over 80 seats in this Parliament, would that be a good thing?

If it meant Parliament more accurately represented the people, yes, it would.
One thing about first past the post is that it encourages low turnout. Some areas will always have the same party so people don't bother to vote as they know it makes no difference

Anyone see Corbyn going into his gaff on the 10 o clock news? Looked like a facking shack, sort of place a mini cab driver or a cleaner would live, not the leader of the opposition. He doesn't seem the materialistic type, but fack me - I thought it was footage of him campaigning in some deprived estate til he got his keys out and let himself in!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
did it have his house number painted on the wall in large white numbers?
I've just seen the slappable Philips Hamond stating that there can be no free trade agreement, without free movement of labour.
