Since you want to be pedantic about numbers, 65 million brits do not want to go it alone without the EU. Not even half that number

But your example would have happened whether we were in the EU or not. So many things have happened whilst we've been in the EU that would have happened regardless. You can't just give them credit for everything, just because the timelines of history coincide.
==============
I do not believe I have given them credit for everything.
They have improved working conditions, rights of workers as well as the Environment we all live in.
That is not something that can be disputed. The organisation is not perfect but has done more for the average European than most of their govts.
To make out it is some evil construct is just not accurate
----------------------------------------------------------------------
EU is not an evil construct. It was initially a very good power for good. However globalisation just overtook it as a concept far quicker than anyone could have predicted. And now it seems like a monolith. An iron chain around the ankles of countries who need to adapt to the world quicker than the EU can find solutions to their problems.
At the moment the ECB is using the same tactic that Bank of England and Fed used to stave of a deep recession. But that tactic causes the stagnation of wages and creates a dependency culture of low interest rates. Then you get reactions like that of 'leave'. This is going to be replicated in the Eurzone but a nation level. In the short term it brings a level of stability but in the longer term it creates asset bubbles and a massive class divide that is truly vicious when it surfaces.

Yes it does, since the UK is a service driven economy it needs to sell its services to a significant market at ts door step.
So, who is in the stronger position I ask again.

You can check with Norway and Switzerland what they negotiated with the EU
That's what Boris and co are suggesting.
What are the key features of those agreements for access to the single market?
Why should the UK be given preferential treatment after it spat on the EU even though it already had preferential treatment?

The funny thing is I keep hearing take back control but we are actually losing control.
Most amusing

You dont know that

Can you tell me the things we can control after we exit the EU and then seek to be a part of the single market?

But your example would have happened whether we were in the EU or not. So many things have happened whilst we've been in the EU that would have happened regardless. You can't just give them credit for everything, just because the timelines of history coincide.
==============

Sircastic - feel free to deduct 16 million from 508.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
65, not 16. Almost 13% of the total.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Since you want to be pedantic about numbers, 65 million brits do not want to go it alone without the EU. Not even half that number
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The original comment said 508million people dont want to go it alone with UK. Of course you exclude Britain ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But not all of Britain wants to go it alone.
Being pedantic of course
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My god its not hard to understand. How the fa ck can 508mill people not want to go it alone with the UK include the British people?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are being pedantic. Nearly 50% of brits do not want to go it alone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
*Who voted
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, including the 1.2m that want to change their vote?

P.S.
Waiting for a response to this;
Quelle surprise, just like Boris and co
No clue
If you do not mind me asking, do you have a role that involves commercial negotiations?
In negotiations, who has the advantage, the person in a position of strength or the person in a position of weakness

The EU needs our trade

Yes it does, since the UK is a service driven economy it needs to sell its services to a significant market at ts door step.
So, who is in the stronger position I ask again.

You can check with Norway and Switzerland what they negotiated with the EU
That's what Boris and co are suggesting.
What are the key features of those agreements for access to the single market?
Why should the UK be given preferential treatment after it spat on the EU even though it already had preferential treatment?

Again when 2 parties need each other, a deal will be made. Why would Merkel ignore german interests?
