Gove and May are facking horrendous and possibly evil. I guess they're a pretty decent reflection of the majority of the UK voting public though.

From what I've read I do hope Theresa May becomes the next PM.

I'm no fan but I read she has changed tack on ECHR to appeal to more liberal Conservatives in order to be more electable.

Can someone explain what michael Gove did when he was head of education? I didn't follow it at the time, and I can't understand the articles I find on Google (or the authors of the articles don't understand)?

Head of Chatham House Research Policy Unit;

"The UK was the one country who pushed the hardest for EU enlargement to 27 member states. They understood the principle of free movement of people, and yet continued to push the EU commission on enlargement.

Now Britain claims it isn't responsible for the immigration levels in it''s own country."

John Major, during the Maastricht Treaty enlarged the EU. Tony Blair followed suit.

The more information that comes to light the more the 'take back control' & 'British sovereignty' argument falls apart.

Is there anything the leave camp campaigned on that hasn't been torn apart?

All of the propeganda being reported is from a Bremain perspective at the moment. It seems to fit the left wing love in on this thread so is being used with the spin you put on it as an argument that it was the wrong result.

It was a democratic decision and one I was 50-50 on until the day before the vote. I was happy to accept the democratic decision whichever way it went. Maybe it was and maybe it wasnt the best outcome for this countrys long term future, but what I am sure of is if Brexit does not happen democracy is the loser and I think there will be a massive backlash.

You lost. Get over it and put your effort into making this country as great as it can be as an independent nation.

To get rid of those pesky regulations so they can take care of the British worker and British industry

Why are you so defensive? We are allowed to discuss issues are we not?

I'm amazed that leave campaigners appear unconcerned about the lies they have been told.

Remember what happened with tuition fees?

What do you think will happen when folk are told, yeah, we are out of the EU but everything will stay the same but we'll have no say in the future of it?

For me it was apparent from the beginning. Divide & conquer.

Make claims on immigration that could never be achieved. Make claims on money recouped and being spent on the NHS, that could never be achieved. Make claims about taking back control etc which turn out to be false, given we were democratically represented in the EU and had the power to have a say in the changes that were made.

They appealed to those who feel disenfranchised by the political system and insecure about the national identity of our country, rightly or wrongly.

It was a campaign of tub thumping rhetoric that, for me, was akin to the patriotism and false hope we feel when our national football team used to depart for the WC or EC. The leave campaign were offering to re-establish that national identity with little substance to back it up.

Crabb would be my choice from the frightening selection of libertarian, state-shrinking, rights-revoking millionaires on offer.

This keeps being said but I'm yet to see any firm ideas of how we 'put your effort into making this country as great as it can be.......'
