the difference with this and other times we have played was the goalkeeper.
we have played barca countless times and they have cut us right open time and time again but having a keeper on top form (fraser forster, david marshall, boruc) makes all the difference.
i think de vries had 1 save.
in hindsight, it should have been gordon, he doesnt come and collect crosses etc but how many crosses to barca play? he's a good shot stopper but and he would have saved a few of those.
I cant understand the acceptance if the result its a fooking major embarrassment

Agreed
We hung in well till half time (just) and missing that pen doesn't help much.
Second half we totally collapsed and they just took us to the cleaners. They exposed every defensive worry we have had about the squad; and hopefully we use this to improve it in the winter transfer window or next summer.
For what we have now we need to work much harder in training and make the remaining games more competitive; our big games will be against Borussia, and those results will most likely determine where we finish.
I didn't expect us to get a result last night, but that was really tough to watch.
should play someone at sweeper.
Not too upset about last night
i just take my hat off to them
they are brilliant and on another level from us
If Madrid had beat us 7-0 you would have been down to Greaves sports to get Ronaldo 7 on the back of your top the day.
I didn't expect us to get a result last night, but that was really tough to watch.
THIS!!!
all round shambles, to lose a goal so early was a joke, Lennon teams twice took the lead against Barca and were fairly comfortable
Brendan Rodgers has a huge task on his hands if his remit is to make us competitive in Europe.
I'm not even sure if he'll be in the job long enough to do it, it might be that he just lays the foundations.
He's had one window to make his mark on what was a very weak, fragile side. A lot of that fragility was on display again last night.
Getting us to the CL group stages was all we could realistically ask of him this season.
Yes a 7-0 reversal hurts but I remain convinced that the club is on an upward curve and I think we are in for a memorable season.

not too upset at losing 7-0 why are people going with this stance, we've just been embarrassed

He also got beat 6-1 of them.
Madrid, United, Juventus, Bayern
7-0 its fookin embarrassing

look at our 4 away games so far in Europe
yes it was tough to watch , watching an SPL side against such superior opponents was always going to be a tough watch
did you expect anything but a humping ?
Look at the players they have , most of them make it into a world XI
I dont think it was embarrassing at all , i just think it is what it is
world class players against a side whos big signing cost a whopping £4M
They could sell just one of their players and it would amount to more money than if you sold our entire team
The gulf is way way way bigger between us than Barca than it is us and Rangers - so why are people suprised that they can do that to us ?
Not too upset about last night

i doubt the existance of this hat...
I'm with Ghod and Paddy on this. Yeah we were always going down but to do so, in such a limp manner is tough to take.
That said I do think we have coach who will learn from it and use it to improve the squad.
CT
Defensively we need to improve but that Barca team will take 5, 6 & 7 off more teams than us this season.

I dont have it on , i took off in honour of them last night
they didnt have to work for 5 of the goals
the first goal was something i'd expect to see on a fookin computer game, 3 players all just aimlessly running away from the best player in the world
2nd goal was decent and Lustig shouldve taken Neymar out
3rd goal was a shambles, goalkeeper error
4th goal from our kick off
5th goal 8 players inside the box and not 1 near Iniesta
6th goal 2 centre halfs trying to play offside and a goalie whos glued to his line
I cant even remember the last goal
pray tell, what did this "hat" look like.
coming on here, fronting like you have a hat.
By the way, De Vries is one mistake away from having all of the fans on his back.
He needs to start showing he deserves the Number 1 jersey as right now he's no where near good enough.

Only smart people can see it

we'll probably take 5 or 6 off a few teams aswell domestically, its what these teams do at that level
if you want to play with the big boys you dont lose by 5 6 or 7
I think Barca will take 5 off Gladbach as well.
I suppose we will get to see how good they are tonight.
Most honest assesment so far.
All this Barca backslapping is baffling.
They're a class outfit. But 7-0 is utterly unacceptable. Well, it should be... Many fans seem to be unmoved by what should be a humiliation.
Someone said last night that Barca kept scoring the same goal over and over and it was like playing FIFA on the Playstation. I thought that was spot on.
I am torn between both sides of the this argument, some of the defending was absolutely shocking but then look at the quality of the Barcelona team. I feel we need to get a more gritty edge with teams like this, however this is not how Brendan set's his teams up. The one thing is its a hard lesson but a good lesson, the team can learn
