Pogba. The fee is relevant IMO.

Regarding Pogbas fee

Whether it's good value or a complete waste of money won't be known now. Only in a few years when he's had a chance to let us know

I'd also like to point out that our last trophy was 65 days ago

Liverpool haven't won one for 5 years, 67 days, 18 hours, 13 minutes and 30 seconds.

Is is true though that Lucas Leiva has the same number of assists as Paul Pogba this season.

Transfer fees can look a lot more value for money over time.

We had loads of Henderson laughs in his first couple of years. £20m doesn't look a lot now though considering he still only 26/27.

Who knows if £90m will look a lot cheaper in 5 years time.

Maybe players will regularly be going for £150m and £90m will be the going rate for young international midfielders.

You certainly wouldn't get a 21 year old Henderson for £20m today. Clubs would be looking for more like £40m.

I didn't say you need to win the Prem next year, I said do something. To clarify, that means challenge. Not scrap for top 4.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ok, well i think we all agree on that, and if jose doesn't manage some form of challenge next season - which is difficult to define, but certainly isn't what we've seen this season - then he'll be out on his @rris.

Sorry, I didn't think you were deliberately being misleading by only basis your argument on league appearances

Pogba justifying the fee will depend on his performances and what the club wins. He is never going to have a prolific output to justify it, like Ronaldo or Suarez, but if he was to become a a dominant midfielder in a dominant side, then you could consider him a good signing. Right now he barely would be worth £40 million, and has yet to really make the difference in any of the big games.

To be honest though, without being a prolific goal scorer, then I doubt we will ever see a player worth that sort of money. I would even consider Bale a waste of money overall, despite his importance winning trophies. Pogba would have to be continuously one of the best CMs in the world, to return that kind of money. I doubt that will happen, despite the guys talent.

its funny someone mentions henderson

Probably the same level as pogba

Both horrifically overrated

let united spunk their rmoney on living emoji's for shirt sales in china

the rest of the prem will get on with actual football matters

Any way you look at it Pogba is dog chit and wouldnt get in any of the top 4's midfield's

quite fitting

He's probably paid it already in shirt sales, sponsor deals and extra bums on seats.

Clearly a very talented player who has done well (not amazing) in a season where he is finding his feet in a league he basically never played in before.

Pogba will be a great player for us and I think next season he will start to show it properly.

Sometimes he forgets he doesn't have the time on the ball he did in Italy but he's learning.

Also it's been fine margins with him this season but he strikers will eventually start to put away the chances he's created and the shots coming off the post will start to go in.

I think it is relevant. It pushes up the value of other players. Griezmann is a good player but no where near £100m. I have watched him very closely over the last 2 seasons and he is not worth more than £50m

First paragraph is nonsense but I agree with the rest. I'm not totally sold on his attitude but he certainly has talent.

C'mon. You can't tell me you are not worried a little bit about your result since SAF left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
annoyed/frustrated/disappointed yes, worried no. we're the 3rd richest club in the world, i wouldn't be too concerned about spending 27 years in the wilderness, no.

and as for your almost entirely random "united need to do something next season or they become liverpool" that's just cobblers.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually we only need to do something in the next 27 years or risk becoming the next Liverpool

Paul Pogba is easily the best Midfielder in the league at top form. He hasn't had a good season for a few reasons:
1) Having to adjust to the pace of the PL after playing in Serie A for 4 years
2) Having to adjust to a lower quality of team mates, especially in midfield.
3) Playing in a team that doesn't have the right balance yet

Anyone who thinks Pogba won't come good is dreaming. He's been put in a hard situation and that's why his first season has not been great.

you won the first division 11 times in 20 years, but have won fewer premier leagues than leicester or blackburn.

but if you want to pretend you've been right at the top of the tree for the past 27 years then be my guest.

in the past 7 years you've finished top 4 once, and in the past decade you've won the same number of trophies as wigan and birmingham.

but as i said, whatever makes you feel better about your club and its slow slide into mediocrity.
