Whether its the Germans on high end engineering, or the Chinese in manufacturing or India in services etc.

Look at why Russia launched their war! They know its reliance on is fossil fuels exports was not enough to drive economic growth after the pandemic. So the only way artificially raise the oil price was to invade Ukraine.
