To what aim, higher pay for all and a fairer society is easier said than done. However...

"The CWU have their heads in the sand and are failing to grasp the seriousness of the situation."

Interesting projection from the Royal Mail today
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Royal mail are Gaslighting the populace.

You will almost certainly have seen the line "we are losing £1m a day"

Do you know what they mean like that? Anyone with a brain would assume the company makes a £360m loss every year, but no.. what they mean by that was that this time last year they were making £2m clear profit daily, this year they are only making £1m a day clear profit, hence a £1m "loss"

They then go on to call it a "loss making" company...

Then let's talk about their 5.5% wage rise. 2% basic pay rise, 1.5% based on "modernisation"* and the final 2% being a bonus based on going "above and beyond" yet they can't quantify that for us, they can't tell us how you would qualify for it..

As for "modernisation", what modernisations do you think they want? New machines? Nope, new ways of handling mail? Nope..

They want to remove sick pay, annualise hours so we work 34 hours in the summer and 40 hours in the winter, move our start times back three hours, remove overtime pay, putting OT in a "bank" to be used as holiday "if it can be fit in" staffing levels are already too low for existing entitlement

Further to that they wish to change our employment rules to state we MUST COMPLETE THE DAYS ASSIGNED WORKLOAD.. meaning we.wont even have a finish time (and won't be paid for the OT)

That 1.5% isn't linked to modernisation, it's a bribe to tear up our terms and conditions, it's a levelling down agenda in a race to the bottom with Amazon/Evri/DPD and their gig economy work.

sounds terrible
this is the route free market capitalism inevitably takes
we need people to unionise, mobilise and stand up to this nonsense

‘Bonfire of the regulators’

Truss has the FCA, PRA and PSR in her sights, planning to merge and de-fund the three in her crusade for growth-at-all-costs.

See the FT and Guardian for full stories.

Probably her most dangerous and stupid idea yet.

God/Flying Spaghetti Monster help you lot, because I’m not sure who else can.

Within some industries the PRA are the ones pushing for advancements in approaches to help keep up institutions in line with (or in some cases ahead of) the rest of the world.

Without the FCA does the PPI scandal get people payouts? What about the changes in pricing for renewals on home and car insurance?

Those practices have been undone by giving regulators teeth and importantly finding to do the work that they do.
If truss wants to go back to FS companies gouging/scamming consumers, that is just about par for the course for her and the horrible mutated Conservative party she wants to lead.

VIDEO: This is the moment gun-toting robbers raid a jewellers in Richmond in front of terrified customers and a screaming toddler.

The shocking footage was released after the raiders were jailed at Kingston Crown Court on Friday.

CCTV footage of the robbery at Horton Jewellers, in Richmond, on February 5, 2010:

The masked men, wearing boiler suits, burst into Horton Jewellers in Paved Court, Richmond, on February 5.

As they smash window displays with a hammer, one of them points a handgun at terrified customers and staff.

A screaming two-year-old in a buggy is showered with glass as the robbers steal jewellery worth £150,000.

They then make off towards Richmond Green and jump into a waiting car.

Ringleader Lee Byer, 32, of Bollo Lane, west London, was described as a “Fagin-type character” who recruited and organised four young robbers to target stores in Victoria and Richmond.

The five pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court in August and October last year and were jailed for a total of 41 years on Friday.

Detective Chief Inspector Pam Mace, head of the Metropolitan Police’s flying squad, based in Barnes, said: "Lee Byer was a prominent and influential figure within west London crime circles. He controlled a violent gang of young men, directing them to commit high value commercial robberies and regarded himself as untouchable.

"The lengthy and complex investigation by the flying squad, with the support of local borough officers, has resulted in all five pleading guilty, reflecting the compelling evidence gathered against them.

The way the CPS and courts are going, he’ll probably have passed of old age by the time he’s sentenced.

Don't think it helps that outside of franchises like Marvel now you barely see anyone in the summer as they just wait for it to come out on a streaming platform.

Watched Bullet Train at the weekend and it was 1/5 full if that.
