Great answers guys, cheers
Personally, my fav is Venom, but I do believe the DC rogue gallery is the most interesting, then again, I only know a small amount on whose who..
Like Galactus. He sounds powerful, and I know he’s more than just a cloud in space.
When I was younger I thought Dr Doom was the one..

main thing about darkseid i didnt like was his defeat by zeus/ares, if he was still uxas, thats fine but ww called him darkseid and i doubt they got an update that the guy known as uxas was know darkseid.. perhaps a script issue/scared people would be confused if he had 2 names
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was definitely Darkseid.I just assumed he was weaker, which I will admit, diminishes the characters menace. I have no qualms about Zeus defeating him but Aries? The same Aries we saw WW destroy?

i think its a abit feck up personally (or perhaps it would come up later that its a much more powerful darkseid), otherwise as from what youve said, ww could probably deal with it. I'd have expected darkseid to beat the crap out of supes, but on that showing, no chance
or maybe that wasnt the actual fight and it was just summarising what ww was talking about

Funnily enough it touches on an issue I have with Falcon & Winter Soldier - if the government isn't smart enough to financially compensate and provide for the world's heroes it shouldn't be shocked if they go rogue or refuse to sign Sikovia Accords.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe it's more of a voluntary thing and any compensation is minimal. Hawkeye and Black Widow actually worked for shield, so I assume they paid their sarlary. Tony Stark obviously has his own companies, Banner is a scientist, so probably earns his money from that and captain america may have just got a pension, as I recall his apartment being quite small.
I think it was a pride thing for Falcon. Let's be honest, why is he bothering to fix his familys boat when he could just ask Pepper for a loan to buy a new one. Falcon strikes me as a man who has similar values to Cap and would therefore like to pay his own way.

It sort of defeats the purpose though. Heroes should want to do good because it's the right thing to do. It's the fact that they put themselves in danger so others can live in safety and they do it because it's the ultimate good.
If you start paying them millions, they just become heroes for hire and the greater purpose gets lost.
The example I always like to use is Superman. He represents the ultimate ideal because he doesn't ask for anything nor does he need to help others but he does so because it's in his nature to keep people of earth safe.
It's why I have always been a fan of Spiderman. His aunt is living in a less than opulent neighbourhood and he is barely making scraps as a photographer, yet he continues to put his life on the line for the city and its people.

Firefighters, soliders and paramedics are heroes, not sure they'd have much patience with claims they should not paid as their purpose of saving/protecting lives is lost.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not quite the same though is it.
Is a firefighter or a paramedic going to work for free, I doubt it. Would Cap put his life on the line for free, you better believe it.
That's the purpose. That's the greater ideal. To be good not because there is financial incentive but because it's the right thing to do.

^ Superman is a god-like alien from space. It is not the same expectation or risk that someone like Falcon faces in a struggle, let's be real, Falcon is among the weakest Avengers
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that's the beauty of it.
Superman being an alien or Falcon being a human doesn't change their purpose. They both strive to do the right thing because that's what is right. That's what I believe a hero represents.

Exactly. You can't pay them millions because it dilutes everything they represent.
You can't do a flat rate because some heroes save more people than others.
But then you are putting a price on every individual in society and surely that would effect who gets saved?
Then you get heroes for hire that come in and save people based on monetary returns and ultimately, the people that may need saving get missed because it paid more to save some guy in the city than it did in the slums.
