Salah is brilliant in a system perfectly designed to bring the best out of him.

If you offered me the choice of either right now i'd take Hazard without a second thought.

He creates openings for the team. If the other players don't furfill there side of the bargain it's not his fault.

He also chips in with late teens every season himself, which is very good combined with everything else he does.

If we're talking just last season then you have a good argument, but he needs to have another two or three good seasons to prove he's up there.
By your logic Clive Allen was better than Glenn Hoddle due to his 49 goal season.

It’s bronly, when have we EVER seen a player hit 40 one season and just completely disappear off the face of the earth and never hit that level again due to being “found out”? It never happens. Once Neymar, CR7 and Messi hit that level, they were never found out. Frankly, at that level, you’re too good to be found out.

There are probably just as many if not more players who've hit 30+ goals in a PL season and not been able to hit those heights again than those who have.

I don't think the system was designed to get the best out of him at all. We had the same system before he came. But yeah Hazard works better with Jose's Park the bus tactics so I'd take him if I were a United fan.

I don't think Salah will disappear either, he's a quality player playing in an attacking team.

I’ve seen him clearly ease off and not play with the same intent after scoring one goal in a few games. If the kept playing that same way he could definitely score way more goals. That’s just one way in which he could score more just by trying harder

First, I don't recall saying anything about dropping off completely, I'm talking about sustaining that level like the players you referred to have.

I've looked at PL goals because the numbers are easily accessible, but if you score 30+ in the league, I don't think it's that much of a push to hit 40 all comps.

Based on last season it’s not even close.

Even before he scores he doesn't obsess over it, most players in his situation in 15/16 would have shot from beyond stupid angles but he just tried to play his normal game?

Would i in an ideal world like 40 goals alongside what he already does? Ofcourse, but we don't live in an ideal world, he's not a great finisher but a world class creator so getting him to start shooting more while would likely get him a few more goals would make him a lesser playerl

Thing is, if Salah only manages 25 goals next season these people will be saying they’ve been proven right and that he’s dropped off or been found out. When really, it would still be a fantastic season for a wide player in the PL, when compared to the likes of Hazard etc.
