And hey, that’s fine, but if that is all Hazard is ever gonna be, then I don’t see how you can say Salah is not better than him. The guy just does more than Hazard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In terms of creating chances it's not even close.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In terms of scoring goals it’s not even close.
Not tell me which one actually matters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If creating chances don't matter, why did Modric, Xavi and Iniesta even bother?

In terms of ability I’d say Hazard is more talented.
Clearly would rather have Salah in my team though, scores a lot more goals and is more consistent.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More consistent, he's had one season were he's excelled. Come back next season and we'll see if he's consistent.

He scored and assisted 46 goals the season before last. 21 goals and assists the season before that. Seems like a natural progression of a top player coming into his peak, to me.

Sorry 25 goals and assists the season before last. 46 was the total over the two seasons.
Salah has had one season better than Hazard in his entire career...
This debate is a really hard one to honest. There are some interesting points to be made about how we rate players, and it seems the underlying debate is on stats.
As a Chelsea fan I can conceed Hazard has never reached the level of consistency Salah has shown over a season. But I don't think Salah has ever quite carried a team quite like Hazard has at Chelsea. Even at his best Salah would not have been able to drag Chelsea through games, in quite the same way as Hazard, and Hazard even in the Klopp Liverpool team wouldn't be banging goals in at nearly the same rate.
Perhaps I'm biased but Hazard overall is the more talented player. He plays completely different to Salah who is more of a forward than winger/midfield.
Goal scoring is obviously important. But the stats argument really doesn't hold up as many of the best proved to be world class without being prolific.

Hazard is easily the better player, Salah easily had the better season
Hazard by a countrymile is better than Salah.
Anyone calculate the assists that lead to the score rates? Hazard is a midfielder , Salah a striker. Its value to team that counts. Hazard has won the major trophies that Salah has not.

As well as Salah did this season he tailed off at the end and was very subdued. Also in the World Cup so he’s not an unqualified success.
Hazard has been caught up in the termoil at Chelsea and his contribution has been overlooked. Not that great but another decent season.
Perhaps we need another season here to see how things shape up.

I don’t get this “hazard is clearly the better player” nonsense. Why? Because he can pass and dribble? Like I’ve said in the comments here, Salah has a thirst for goals and a directness that Hazard doesn’t have which means he’s a player who’s always going to deliver a much higher output of goals. Theyre different players, but salah just provides more end product. Add to that as well that Salah is sooooo much more consistent than Hazard who has one good game a month pretty much and doesn’t provide anything the rest of the time really. Why do people think Hazard is a much better footballer? Because he can do pretty things with the ball? Give me Salah’s drive, his end product, his consistency and his thirst for goals over Hazard’s ‘talent’ any day.

Gerrard better than Iniesta for facks sake. Iniesta won a World Cup, two Euro's, 4 CL's, 9 La Liga's, 13 domestic cups, scored the winning goal in the World Cup final.
Stevie G has Istanbul. Other than that his career was one big underachievement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No that's what Barca won. Players can't win trophies.
Sorry did I miss somewhere in which Salads goals won something? Hazard has pretty much won the EPL by himself.....

Barca and Spain. He was a constant across all that success for club and country, because he was a facking amazing player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes. Gerrard could have went to United, Chelsea or Real Madrid and won more trophies, instead he stayed at one club. He couldn't change his international team. I mean you don't say Kane isn't a world class player because he stays at a club who don't win trophies.
You're mixing up team achievements with individual ones. Individually even with a team who weren't elite like the others mentioned had he was voted third in Balon D'or, won numerous PL player of the year and team of the year, I believe the most ever and voted best player in the CL. You don't get those awards for nothing. We're talking about one of the most complete players of his time, he could do it all. To say otherwise either means you're biased, clueless or a unt.

Think as a Liverpool fan you're likely to have bias in the opposite direction, intentional or not. Nobody is saying Gerrard wasn't a quality player, what's being disputed is whether he was in the class of Iniesta.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He obviously was having been voted third in the Balon D'or. Well at least his peers thought so.
