So , Azpi ,Pedro, Willy, Barks and Alonso,to me, are all bench players now,I think that with who we have coming back, and coming through, we must be in a pretty decent position ,no ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree entirely...said so for some time...good players to call on from the bench though
We can't be far from fielding our strongest side available soon...& none of these will feature in it

Be interesting to finally get to our best team. I'm guessing it's:

Kepa
Reece Rudi Tomori Emerson
Kante Jorginho
Hudson-Odoi Loftus-Cheek Mount
Tammy

I don't think we can play mount, cho and rlc in the same line up tbh...i think it always has to be two from 3

not yet anyhow..if RLC and CHO can improve the defensive aspect of their game, then yes it would work

Plus I think you can go too far putting so many of the youth in one team, you need a blend of experience in there as well.

agree Brummie, although we can no longer consider RLC a youth player

That's why I think we need Willy until the summer then look to replace him.

I find it quite worrying that Pulisic doesn't seem to be in favour. That means that if we move on Willian and Pedro in the summer and Pulisic hasn't developed, we'll need to buy another two wide men to supplement CHO.

Given the circumstances, I don't think a move for Zaha would be a bad move, as he's undoubtedly going to move from Palace anyway!

I think Pulisic will be ok, i suspect Frank is getting him to strengthen his body first.

I agree about Willy, even though his final pass ios driving me to insanity, he makes spaces appear over the pitch

He's definitely a very frustrating player. When he first picks the ball up his speed and movement make him look a phenomenal player but then in the final 3rd were it counts he just seems to peter out to nothing or turning back and playing the ball to where he's just come from.

Exactly, that is what i mean by him creating gaps, he gets opponenst running backwards, but then as you say it all comes to nothing..............now i know how my wife must feel

Thought he was the worst player on the pitch today. Just not in sync with the rest of the team. Him barkley and Pedro were poor
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He got Man of the Match!

Lol shut up? You’re kidding?

Nick....watch MOTD and they will explain why he got the motm
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would caution against watching motd pundits! They concentrate on goals and highlights, doubt they watch the whole game at all. Jorginho was hands down man of the match for me even regardless of the pen.

As for Willian’s workrate well there’s a reason the 10 or so people I drink with at half time wanted him hauled off! Guys so lazy

Tbf to willy and even Pedro who was poor also, is Cho was poor when he came on and not involved. Although he put two good balls across to willy, one the deflection and he got lucky. The other Willian struggled to react to and it ran away from him.

Will have to try and catch an extended match highlights though to rewatch.

Great to get a win and clean sheet with arsenal and Utd playing each other tomorrow.

Nick I would have been better served having that drink with you at Fulham Broadway as it turned out. Getting back to Hillingdon was a facking nightmare due to signal failure at South Harrow. All the trains were going to Heathrow.

btw Barkley was absolute shi ite yesterday, how he was not the first one subbed off i'll never know.

Hello mate haha no worries theirs always next time. Stuck around because was meeting my mrs for a bite to eat afterwards.

Barkley was woeful, pedro not much better. Azpilicueta also needs to buck his ideas up offensively. He hits the full back everytime, like he’s playing wall ball

I hate to say this because he's been a great servant but Dave is an absolute liability these days. Once Reece James gets up to speed after his injury I can see him replacing him pretty soon. He has directly cost us quite a few goals already this season, it's a shame because he has been one of our best defenders over the years, but time marches on and waits for no one.

and what is the reason why so many ex Chelsea players continue to rate him and why previous and current Chelsea managers continue to play and praise him?

What ex Chelsea players? And because they are still a society, you will rarely find players slagging each other off, and Willian is evidently(or was) a talented player and a big name. But his workrate, like a lot of talented Brazilians, has dissapeared into his 30s. This isn’t like I’m the only one saying it.

I would hope that once Pulisic is up to speed and Cho is fit Willian and Pedro will be phased out.

If Willian was so under rated you’d think he’d of assisted hazard more than twice in the 100 or so times they started a game together. Or scored more than 29 in 204 league games or whatever it is. Tidy player but will be a better team once he’s out the team, as he can’t press
