We shouldn't be looking for replacements for any of the following imo:
Vicario
Udogie
Porro
Emerson
vdV
Romero
Sarr
Bentancur
Maddison
Lo Celso
Johnson
Kulu
Richarlison

and probably Bissouma and maybe Skipp

Son and Davies not looking for immediate replacement.

When a player is playing well, doing everything asked of him, and playing a role in the team performing to or above expectation, it's simply not appropriate to look for a replacement for that player. The player needs to be thanked, backed and trusted.
If the player who is giving everything and doing well (and especially under contract) wants to have an honest conversation, it's just not on to be in a position where you either lie to him or tell him yes you're doing great, but we are trying to replace you although we haven't found the right player for your role yet.

If that means the current player gets better or becomes a squad player the overall squad gets better.

If they don’t then they get sold simple

Be cafeful of this account. At the start of the season he had a knack of predicting the results or at least being very near. But then I read a comment about him pumping out tweets as he is now getting paid by X as he is verified.

Someone also said he uses AI and then copies the text from there on to X lol. The guy goes deep.

I unfollowed him after he got a few results wrong and started tweeting about his problems with his partner lol.

The guy does deep. And he loves Ange abit too much which is saying something.

Apparently if you are verified you can earn income through engagements with ad space...?? I haven't looked into it but I was following an atheist after Oct 7th and he started pumping out loads of tweets too. And they were massive. I started getting suss thinking this guy has way too much time on his hands then it clicked.

Yeah I mostly agree with you.

But on your final line, my view that it's not suitable to be even contemplating selling high performing players. They are part of the team and the team as a whole is as important as the players in it.

Yes of course they'll know they need to keep the standard up and if they don't things might change, but the top performing players (and their teammates) would be rightfully peed off in my view if it was found out that the club was looking to replace them.

Small difference in what we're saying probably that's all, although the chat yesterday was specifically about replacing Richarlison who as I say for me should be safe atm (unless he wants to go).

Let's put it down to semantics.
