I didn't really think of him much at all to be honest, but this morning suggests you are right.

I will never be sure whether or not the verdict was correct, but I do think that the Tshirts were a bad idea and a PR disaster. They could have just done something behind closed doors.

I remember the statement put out on the web site as well - it was written like someone angry on a forum!

Lessons were learned I'm sure.

Didn’t you admit you chanted The S*n was right, murderers’ on Sunday?

Didn’t you bring up Heysel on the Liverpool fans thread?

There’s no outrage or self righteousness.

You’d be better off focusing your criticism on Liverpool fans who seem to have no decency, id suggest.

If he did then that is disgusting.

This is what I wrote on a different thread:

Glad that Carra apologised. I have to add at this stage tbough that I felt terribly sorry for Dalglish at the time. I very much doubt he was approving of the tshirts. In fact I'm certain he was embarrassed by it all. Whatever I think of Liverpool as rivals Dalglish was very dignified during their darkest hour so he'll always have my respect for that.

At the time Suarez would have been better off denying he ever said anything or LFC should have just made a statement saying he was in the wrong. The stance they did take was ridiculous really and is the type of balls up I'd expect from United's board now. You can't admit to racist language and then wear tshirts supporting the player.

I don't think Suarez is racist but he should really have known better.

I think that is generous to Dalglish myself and I think he let himself down.

The club have never really dealt with the situation properly and it has allowed resentment to fester.

Okay, you're done here.

Maybe let us all know when you've grown up.

People like Evra who lie about racist abuse don't deserve civility, they deserve to be knocked out.

As for the OP.

I struggle to have any sympathy for Evra. During the incident he lied, this is fact. The there’s the other stuff like the way he’s acted for this national team, kicking a fan and the weird stuff with the chicken.

I’ll add the caveat this this isn’t to be confused with me saying he deserved to be racially abused. No one does. I just doubt the veracity of his claims due to his words at the time, and actions after.

Its weird how Sky have Evra on the Monday night football. The day after the game at old Trafford aint it..
I mean its almost like they have orchestrated the whole thing. So a ex-Liverpool player had to apologise for the thing that happened years ago.
Carragher had no choice but to say sorry. Otherwise the whole thing would blow up again in the media.

Are they?

Or do you perhaps mean that some United fans behave badly, just like some Liverpool fans do?

Like I said - you have a choice of how to behave in instances like this.

It's not a fact actually.

That's a myth peddled by Liverpool fans desperate to pain Suarez as innocent.

Evra saying to the FA ‘he’s never used the n word’ followed by a You Tube video surfacing of him using it isn’t a fact?

Evra saying on Canal+ Suarez used the abusive word 10 times, but then saying to the FA it was 7, or 5 isn’t a fact?

He blatantly lied on both occasions.

Added to the fact he’s not exactly an upstanding member of the football community.

Over the shirts yes maybe he was wrong and admits it now and can see that now. But deep down I still thinks Carragher believes the whole thing was concocted in the mind of Evra. Hes just not allowed to say it. Because he would be accused of aiding and abetting a racist.Doesnt matter if Suarez was or not
