Wonder what the impact would be when Pogba comes back.

I’m glad Ole chose to continue scouting and only perused a deal once he was certain he wanted the player. Too many signings have failed in recent years.

He really does look the part. And it's the area we did need to strengthen in more than any other.

If only the Red Army had attacked Ed's house sooner. Sigh

These comments are so cringe. Robb makes the same comments.

Alas, sarcasm doesn't translate well in text. The comment was purely tongue in cheek. And if you are aware of that and are still put out, then that's more your problem than mine. For one thing, I think the Bruno deal was agreed before that embarrassing incident

Annoyed you got him. He would have been perfect for us but we have spent a lot on Keita so needs to be given more time.

We are paying the price of Woodward's incompetence

---------------------------------------------

We're not because it was obviously decided among those involved in the recruitment process that we weren't going to go after him and instead focused our attention on the likes of Dybala and Eriksen.

We had an interest in the player but there wasn't any plan to follow up on it.

Anyway, just glad that he's here now because as I've been saying for a while, he's different class.

I was worried he was being overhyped, but so far, so good.

3 games in the league, 1 goal, 2 assists not bad.

its always a risk when you sign these highly rated players from overseas, just look at keita, but I think bruno will be a very important player for us, would love to see him and Pogba creating for us

Bruno was realistic the rest weren't so that's a classic Woodward hallmark.

Woodward oversees the whole process so if anyone is to blame it's him.

Woodward and his executive team have a big summer ahead. Any more failures on the recruitment front then heads in his immediate area must roll.

A DOF is well overdue

posted on 23/2/20

In the summer we would have had to pay the extra £20m or so upfront. Considering our current two options at no. 10, it would have been worth it.

Sporting said we overpaid by 20m, but hey ho...we got him.

I know i'm late to the party, missed the game because of work.

But just seen Martial's goal highlight. Wow!

How is it?

I know it's fun to abuse him and he deserves everything he gets but there are so many people involved in the recruitment process at the club and more than one person has the power to veto a particular transfer.

Ole even alluded in an interview after we'd signed Bruno in January that he'd made great strides in the last 6 months which was bo!!ocks but okay so it sounded like even he wasn't completely sure about him in the summer.

Tbf I think the media linked us with Bruno in the summer, more than us wanting the player at that time. In fact, I've seen it mooted on numerous occasions that the media were fed that story by Sporting, with the intention of creating a bidding war and getting a higher price. The general consensus does seem to be that we were monitoring him but we never actually made a move during the summer.

How was Bruno's game today?

Is he an improvement on Lingard or Perreira?

That's pretty much exactly what happened and that's why the club made their annoyance at the constant links known.

He was very good. Best player on the pitch imo. Took his pen well and created the other two goals. Works hard and always looking to create

I seen the highlights to the penalty and the assist.

Pleased for the guy.

He's showing his qualities in getting the attack started.
TBF he was already showing glimpses of his talent in his mini cameo on Thursday. Just gutted i missed the game today.

TRS

buck stops with Woodward. Wasting over a billion on transfers ( since SAF retired) says Woodward and his team are getting too many things wrong, too often yet he is still employed.

Are we a football club set up to win things or a business? Woodward has gone on record to say we don't need to win anything to generate money. That's all he and the Glazers care about, which then makes sense why Woodward is allowed to get away with his transfer failures.
