I see Aaron Ramsey has donated 0.25% of one weeks wage to a welsh hospital charity.

Outstanding effort Aaron!! Knighthood on its way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
IT'S NOT HIS JOB TO FUND HOSPITALS.

In the West, there should never have to be such a thing as a hospital charity.

Him giving is great.

It's a tragic indictment on the country that he has somewhere like this to donate to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There should never be such a thing as homelessness, or poverty, especially child poverty, or food banks, or post code health care, or inequality.......

We give £m’s every year to charity and good causes, we shouldn’t have to, but we do.

In these extraordinary of times, it would be nice if the haves could be a little more giving. I thought that was the gist of the thread?

I wonder how UK Foreign Aid will fare after this is all over.

Will Priti Patel still want to give British taxpayers money to the Israeli Army?

This is a classic case of privatising the profits and socialising the losses - the hallmark of a perfect system!

Or what some people prefer to call neoliberalism!

Give any subsidy to corporate in return for shares/ownership otherwise corporates should not have any right to tax payers' money unless they are providing fundamental service which is not the case here

Thanks Dave.

I actually always suspected that ... so I can't explain why were always at it.

Glad we have sorted that one out!

It may well be the gist of the thread, but I think that WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A PANDEMIC TO CARE FOR THOSE LESS FORTUNATE THAN US.

This isn't intended as a dig at you whatsoever, you always come across as a decent, sensible fella; rather pertinent reminder of our collective choices when the bodies aren't piling up in our hospitals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This whole system that enables rich to be above the law and grow their prosperity and which imposes unbalanced taxes on the society is outdated and comes from the medieval ages, where peasants were uneducated and taken advantage off.

The elite are super rich and have become the untouchables and have a wealth that if distributed fairly, could help so many of us.

The question is why should such a small percentage of the population have more wealth than the rest combined?

PS; I am not a socialist or communist - just asking for a fairer distribution of wealth and land.

I'd agree to interest bearing loans underwritten by shares. But theres no way in hell the cons will agree with that

Not sure I trust them to choose who to invest and take ownership of. Has rbs been a good investment for the taxpayer?

VC Branson bumboy

VC met Branson once so he knows he's a good guy. Also a government would clearly only do what is best for the majority of the population, there's never been any history of governments f-cking over the people and benefiting the rich and powerful.

One again, that is not what I said is it? Your desire to lie to score points against me is quite touching tough.

It shows you can’t debate against my points which yuh are well known for on here.

Your desire to rub with the famous shows what a tool you are. Just because you met him 5 minutes years ago doesnt make you an expert authority on the Branson character. You are just like Paris Hilton, trying to be more important than you are.

This is what I actually asked and said on Branson that 1982 has issue with.

.....

What is your issue with Richard Branson?

I have met the guy and dealt with him when he was hands on trying to break the monopoly of BA and their Atlantic route.

He came across as genuine and a like-able guy.

Maybe I have missed something and he has become a since then.

.....

That seems reasonable to me.

Just let that sink in a minute - WHY was he trying to break it?

1. I never claimed to be.

2. Which is why I asked the question on what he had done to make him such a .

What possible issue can you have with that?
