Alberto Moreno being a good player is a funnier TOOR opinion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah he went downhill and didn't quite kick on as I thought he would. He had all the talent but was very immature. I always thought when he grew up, he would look a great player. He never grew up, still like an immature child and that showed in his game also.

Oh of course, but it’s still doesn’t change the fact that it came at a bad time for him.

There’s only reds - I’m not worried about title challenging right now. Fred is 27 and by time we ate title challenging he will be retired

That's the spirit.

He didn’t go downhill, he was at the bottom of it when he joined.

He wasn't. He was a very good young player, with huge potential. He had just played two seasons at Sevilla won the Europa League and got called up to the Spain squad, at 21. Unfortunately he never improved on that, he never worked at his weaknesses and didn't have the maturity to stop joking and messing around and get working.

I’m talking about when he was at Liverpool. He started at the bottom of the hill because he was bad the whole time. Which is why it was funny when you would say he was good.

No, there was on period when it looked like he had turned it around and was putting in good performances every week. Then the Europa League final happened. After that Milner played at left back.

During that period he was in the Spanish provisional World Cup squad but didn't get called up. You don't get in there for nothing.

Sanchez is the worst value signing in the history of football.

There isn’t even a close second.

He makes Jesse Lingard look like the Warrington Garrincha.

It's not just that it didn't work out, he looked like he'd never played football before. Any money would have been too much.

Keita was a shocking buy as well.

IMO having Keita on this list is like having Hargreaves on a similar list all those years ago. I'm not making a comparison in quality of player, more their circumstances with the frustrating injury situation.

Keita has got excellent stats per minute spent on the pitch. He has far less apps and minutes than anyone in the OPs list. His problem isn't on the pitch, its that he can't get on it. And that's stats for a guy who is always coming back from injury. I'd like to see what he can do if he can stay fit for prolonged periods.

The biggest big money flop has to be between Sanchez and Pogba. Lacazette and Keita shouldn't be on this list for me.

What not Lacazette? Cost over 50 mill and hasn’t played like a 50 mill player. Not enough anyway.

I guess its subjective. I wouldn't say he's a flop at Arsenal, leave alone the historical prem. For me, he's made enough apps and scored/assisted enough to not be classed as flop.

Disappointing? Yes. Flop? Not in my book.

Bakayoko? - Is he still on Chelsea books?

Luke Shaw - £30m was a huge sum at the time and has regressed massively from his Southampton days

Cancelo - what was the point?

You could probably say that about Pogba. Granted he’s played nowhere even remotely near close to what you'd expect for a world record fee (at the time), but he’s not done any worse that laca who you don’t see as a flop

Fred and Pogba have both played to a higher standard and over a more consistent period of time than Keita I am sure.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😅😅😅
Fred is shocking and is only in Man Us team cos he cost a fortune and their squad is weak. Fred never starts in a top team. Keitas injuries have stopped him getting a run of games but he has hit passes and been the best player on the pitch. I've seen unused subs play better than Fred 😅

I'd actually go as far to say Fred is probably one of the worst signings, for big fees, in PL history. Shockingly bad. Keita can pass and tackle, does anyone know what Fred does? Lol he cannot even blame injuries for being bad as he has played most the season and been shocking throughout.

I think united have the worst mf they have had in PL history. That's why Fred plays basically.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Someone is triggered. Liverpool fans can't admit how bad Keita has been after hyping him up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm hardly triggered cos I feel Fred is shocking. I think he is barely above lingaard in terms of ability. He would never get in an united team any other decade.

I've seen him do stuff that was like non league standard. He has got better but that doesn't disguise the fact that he has been fit, and still I have no idea what he is supposed to do.

Keita is made of paper for sure buthat clearly has ability and has been MOTM. Fred is never gonna be uniteds best player.

Fred is better than sanchez though but even Verdon was a better deal. Least u could see a player was there just maybe not the best fit for the system.

I had much higher expectations on Pogba, who cost slightly less than double the cost of Lacazette and higher wages. Pogba also already played at the top level with Juve.

Shevchenko as well. Cost something like £40m. Talking of Chelsea forwards, Torres was even worse.
Agree with comments above about Sanchez.

What a load of shiiite

Keita wasn't injured much last season and spent half of it on the bench

This season he's missed 10 league games through injury... Not exactly out for the season

Of the other 19 he's started 4 and been on the bench 14 times and barely got off it

Comparing him to a crock like Hargreaves is an absolute fantasy

The truth is Keita just hasn't made a big impact at Liverpool

Teams give Fred the ball because there is a zero threat when he has it. Such a limited player. His only saving grace now is that he can pass to Fernandes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Like I said. Lazy assumptions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Happened at Anfield. Every other United player we pressed but when Fred had the ball they had a breather. They even let him find row z with a couple long range shots.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember him being the best player on the pitch in that game for much of the 2nd half. Commentators said the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It happened. I specifically remember Gary Neville saying he’s been outstanding and he’s not a biased commentator/pundit. Doesn’t suit your agenda but it happened.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Which agenda is that? People can have different opinions you know? Not everybody is a biased United fan. Majority of fans who aren't United fans will say Fred has overall been poor. Yes he's been better than woeful this season, yes he has improved but he's poor. I watched him play for Shaktar a few times and he was outstanding. Running the show, dribbling, long range shots. He looks a shadow of that player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Clearly haven’t watched him this season at all. Been very good and has performed against all levels of opposition.

His shooting is still dreadful though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ih I've watched him, I'm just not deluded enough to think he's been anywhere near the top five midfielders in the league.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again you think Gerrard is 3rd best this century and you call someone else deluded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So much this.

TOOR is talking out of his backside again.

Fred this season - poor, better than woeful? You’re just plain wrong.

I think he might be the most biased person on this site. And that is some statement.

I had really high hopes for veron and sheva. Both were incredible on serie a, by far the strongest league in the world at the time, but just never did it here. Real shame.

Thor- Pogba a Gabe is such that he needs good players with him, lacks the brain or drive to elevate players around him. At Juve and France he had class all over the pitch, which makes him able to do what he does well(and probably made him look better than he is).

He doesn’t have that here, and is expected to be a playmaker fulcrum, when he lacks the tactical brain to do it.
