I`m blaming both, the Government are totally and utterly useless, but the football authorities are like sheep, just doing what they are told to do. Football authorities if they had any backbone, would have said no we are not taking tests for footballers, they would be better used send to carers and nurses.
Gutless the lot of them.
Still not realised its not the football clubs responsibility to fund and provide tests/equipment? although im sure they offered equipment and got refused and also offered facilities.

The football clubs must request tests. They could refuse. Simple.
I think footballers and football clubs in the prem have done their part. Trying to claim otherwise and hold them just as responsible as the government for the lack of tests across the NHS and care homes because you dont want football to resume is pretty desperate.

Football clubs have done no such thing, they are doing what they always do, put earning wads of money before anything else. There is absolutely no reason to be even thinking about football, until the death toll comes significantly down to say double digits.
If it takes six months, then so be it.
What you're basically demanding is all these football clubs and players sacrifice their own livlihoods and all those that depend on them for a living to prop up the failing government single handedly.
Why stop in the UK and with cv19? why now? Bit silly to demand such things imo. Theyve contributed a lot, more than you have, nobody has the right to expect them to be selfless etc either. Even without charity the tax they pay alone probably makes them one of the biggest contributors in the country... And now you want them to sacrifice that. so if it ever happens again they wont even be around to prop it up as they have done this time.

Not asking footballers to pay for it. Just that no footballer, and I mean no footballer should ever be tested before any key worker.
Football is after all just a game. Working in a hospital or a care home is absolutely as it stands, a matter of life or death.

As far as I know I doubt anybody in the entertainment business is being given priority testing, like footballers are.
I have absolutely no objection to football taking place, if that is what they want, but just not to use any tests up. If they want to play without tests, and not social distance then that is their problem.
Lots of things I want to do, but all would require me asking for a test, and it is just not on. My entertainment and pleasure can wait a few more months.
What the premier league does and what the government do are 2 completely different issues.
Firstly the government announced tests for anyone over the age of 5 yesterday working towards capacity of 200,000 tests to be carried out daily.
Secondly, the premier league are ordering their tests from private firms that the government aren’t using.

Even if they are paying for it, it doesn`t make it right. They should be paying for tests, and then passing them straight on to the local communities to use in care homes or hospitals.
Basically what you are saying if you have enough money, you can have a test, but if you haven`t you cannot.

Footballers and football are not obtaining test equipment ahead of anybody; far less vital services.
Jesus wept.
There was a stat today that 12,000 people have died in care homes due to covid 19 , if that is a true figure then that is nothing short of genocide imo.
Mongo Boris needs to make sure that the care homes and care home workers as well as the NHS are being given priority over everyone else to be tested.

Well that's that then. Turns out that without football even less people would be tested. In fact to use otherwise unused testing machines in a controlled environment of set amount of people complete with tracking regularly is really positive in the fight against Covid.

I find that hard to believe, so it would take nearly two weeks to test maybe the 200 or so people that would be involved to stage a game of football in the Prem, and as they need multiple tests, they surely would not be using a machine that slow.
