I believe that he was shot in self-defense

You’re feckin mental.

In what world is running home, grabbing all your guns, Alerting your mate to grab his truck and camera and be the cinematographer, Then chasing a black man through the streets, Before shooting him To death, “Self defense?”

Feckin self defense?

Are you mental?

It's only around 60 years ago that they outlawed/stopped segregation in the US. So a lot of whites probably grew up in families where blacks are seen as inferior. It's probably why racism is still ingrained within the American society - even though blacks contribute quite a lot positively to their society and economy. I know people will say that police kill other races as well, but I really doubt an unarmed, powerless man from another race under handcuffs will be so poorly treated and murdered with so little respect or regards - literally screaming, pleading and crying to his slow and painful death. It's shocking.

I think it’s wrong to generalize that what happened to this guy is the norm when officers engage with a black suspect. Without evidence, it’s all speculation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it's not just about this event. It's a reoccurring theme. In fact it was just a few weeks ago that another event appeared on social media where a black was hunted like an animal and shot whilst jogging, apparently because he looked like a thief... whatever that means.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not followed that story much but i believe he had been seen a few times at some construction site after hours. No idea beyond that. I think they wanted some vigilante justice and to give him a good hiding but being imbeciles they bit off more than they could chew.

If it had been a non-white police officer restraining him this probably wouldn't have made the news apart from a paragraph in rhe local paper. I appreciate that there are still major racial issues in the US but from the outside it appears that it is like a game of monopoly in the US with offenders trying to play the GetOutOfJailFree card which they have probably nicked anyway.

He wasn’t being restrained.

He was being killed.

He was being killed, murdered in front of people and who knows what that evil officer has done in private. He clearly believed he could get away with murder. The officer should be killed by lethal injection. The other ones given life sentences. It’s the only justice and even then it’s not good enough. But it’s some level of justice for such an evil crime and evil death. Imagine someone standing on your windpipe and your begging for your dear life and they are pretty much mocking you whilst the very life inside of you disappears.

It’s these situations that create huge distrust in America and if you are black person, do you really trust the police? I certainly wouldn’t and it’s almost a case where you have to be prepared to defend yourself against them as they seem to have a licence to kill. It’s a very dangerous place

Mr Floyd's brother, Philonise Floyd, told CNN on Thursday he hoped the officers involved got the death penalty.
"I'm never gonna get my brother back," he said. "We need justice."
Speaking through tears, he said the officers who "executed my brother in broad daylight" must be arrested and that he was "tired of seeing black men die".

Agree with his brother!

some absolutely crazy shouts on this thread

thankfully the majority can see this incident for what it really is; another brutal murder of a black man by white men who think the colour of their skin makes them above the law and these things acceptable.

America is the gutter these days

Unfortunately these people will never realise that they’re a huge part of the problem. They immediately see the black person as an aggressor as that’s what their upbringing had taught them.

Unfortunately a racist being elected as president gives these people a false sense that their views are now ok.

Feeling somewhat down about the state of the world this morning.

this is not murder but an execution video. It can be argued that ISIS execution videos are kinder as the deaths are swift (mind you I have never watched any of this videos so I can be wrong).

only this time it was carried out on the streets of america in broadday light by someone who was meant to be protecting the people. And most importantly is still walking a free man pending the outcome of an investigation.

New cdm - yep very true an execution in broad daylight. A Slow painful death whilst the man pleads for his life. It’s disgusting and outrageous and the officer will likely go free. There is no justice

That reminds me of a beheading video that was doing the rounds years and years ago. It was horrible.

they need serious training or a complete overhaul of how they train officers, every day i can go on facebook and find videos of cops being complete cants from the get go with just an angry demanour about them.
Theres 686665 cops in america, what % do we think it actually outright bad?

Twitter have marked it as violating their rules for glorifying violence but said it's in the public interest to leave it up.

Well played Twitter.

One of them is half-censored by twitter as it breaks their rules of inciting violence, but you can still see the tweet as its in public interest.

Ja606 is a good example of how there’s quite a large minority of people who either do not acknowledge the issue or stay silent on the issue, of black people being killed for literally no good reason.

A large minority implies that? Well anyway I agree with you that most people are in agreement, sorry if you felt misconstrued by the words. I guess in my head any minority not acknowledging the problem or staying silent on it is too large a minority.
