Tbf it depends on how the season starts. If you get a good draft but your stars are injured week 1, you then might get the best draft as well.

Anyways I potentially got surgery in the next few weeks so asap please.

Person picks crap team and then gets to sign the best players. It just smacks of "everyone's a winner." Def better that you aren't punished for picking a good team on the day. Not saying I will pick a good team btw but think it's kind of self defeating to not maximise the reward for on the day picks

But your get that anyways as transfer window shuts a few weeks after the season starts.

I don't think anyone picks a crap team on purpose. Personally think any player after the draft shouldn't be available until January. But that would be hard for them to do.

Yeah but that's unavoidable. Doing it weeks in advance is entirely avoidable and any players signed between next Sunday and weeks after won't be in the pool when they would otherwise have been. Why not do it in May by that logic? I could have got Haaland on a free after a week!

The first chance to draft in players is after week 1 though. Not as soon as they are signed

Aye that's why I said "after a week" in my last sentence. But it's definitely preferable to do it nearer the time if possible. However, if someone is having an operation in the near future, it's best to get it done before that

Interesting points made. That’s why I initially went for the 24th, it’s 2 weeks before the start, I think that’s ok.

But still, we got to hear from SF & JH. Hopefully they’ll pop up sometime soon.

Yeah I got an MRI Tuesday and then the follow up Friday where the op will be confirmed if it’s required.
Then because I’m private the op would be within a week or so.
Nothing too serious btw I think

So 24th would be out for me.

Ah.. hope everything goes well bud

But, let’s say we don’t hear from them til say a week to before kick off, you reckon you’ll be good to go for then?
Say Aug 1st/2nd?
