Impressive record. He’s not looked very impressive at senior level yet, though.

Yeah, needs a bit of confidence and ruthlessness. It is the difficult issue of him not being good enough to start but in need of consistent time on the pitch to find form.

That’s true, it can be difficult to find strikers that can come in and impress without without a regular run of starts.

Eddie's frame doesn't really suit being the target man and he's not skilled at holding the ball up so if he doesn't score he doesn't shine in the current 3-4-3 system

The thing is Daz he does start basically every week and if anything seems to be regressing

I want him to do well but he doesn’t look anywhere near good enough for a club aiming for top 4

Also Arteta u turned on loaning Eddie after seeing him in training

Depends how you define impressive. Some would say it's impressive for him to be starting games at all at a club this big.

I don't expect hot sh!t performances from youngsters in their first proper season on senior football. If you get them then sweeet. But not getting them, especially this early in the season and our rebuild. Is absolutely no reflection of how good he may be just by the end of this season. Let alone entire career potential. Dislodging Shearer from a record in the books though, whether haters like it or not, is a big positive in the career potential stakes.

We're any of them Emery signings?

The only player I know that he was keen on we declined and went for Pepe instead

One thing for sure is he is treated more favorably by Arsenal fans because of where he comes from

Tbh I've no problem with Gooners giving our youngsters more time to come good than £75m signings.

Let's face it, the only way we're ever going to be able to compete with Chelsea and City etc is if we produce at least 3-4 academy players that all come good round about the same time.

If Eddie isn't to be one of them, then we'll have to turn to Balogun. And he's a year younger, so...

he's trash. we cant be playing a 4 in 25 games striker because he bangs them in against the Kosovo U21s.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet we are and have a healthy W/L ratio doing so I believe. How exactly do you think talented U21s become outstanding senior players, when they aren't a superstar by 19? It's the few who are good enough to be a 1st team sensation. And the many who are just talented young footballers, whom become that good with age experience and gametime.

The type of striker he is means he will struggle a bit at least until he's fully grown. The fully grown, man strength Nketiah will be A LOT harder to stop. Right now, the smaller in stature Lacazette, is more of a physical handful. That man strength is critical to this striking role. Not a problem in U21s though. Hence he scores more there.

He's holding his own as a kid against men. It's a waiting game but also just a matter of time before he starts getting his way upfront, bullying CBs. If he still can't score, THEN he's rubbish But til then, you can consider his U21s performances an accurate reflection of what happens on a pitch when the strength and physical development of his opponents is similar/equal to his own.

What negative agenda?

So to say Nketiah is not a back up is being construed as a negative?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When you're using the statement as justification to say he's rubbish, then yes it is.

Well he shouldn’t be playing as much as he is if that’s the case

Didn’t use it as a justification for anything. Just pointed the statement out to be false.

The fact that you view that as a negative maybe says more about how highly you truly rate him as opposed to just making countless excuses to be more of a ‘real fan’

Unfortunately the player he is back up for has a very clear lack of fitness.

Shearer and Jeffers shiit4brains.

I'm sure he'll go on to smash Shearers 260 goal record like Jeffers nearly did (25).

No, Shearer set the record. Jeffers matched it. Nketiah broke it. You supercaaant, get back to celebrating Spurs winning the title in October.
