Liverpool v Wolves preview [LIVE]

For a long time now there has been debate about how Wolves would cope with Jimenez. Such a good player and we have tried and failed to find decent back up through players like Rafa Mir and Patrick Cutrone. Now the time for coping without Raul has arrived and it’s massive boots to fill. And remarkably we started coping by winning away at Arsenal which was a great achievement even allowing for Arsenal struggling at the moment. I thought Silva stepped up to the mark well and looked a good team player helping to link things together. It certainly wouldn’t have been the plan for his development to throw him in the deep end and start playing him every week, and it would be a great achievement for him if we did that throughout December and came through the month positively.

After two good performances I can’t see why we would move away from the new 4231 set up even though a more cautious line up must be a temptation at Anfield. But as long as we get our two defensive midfield players to do a job closing the spaces in front of the back four I wouldn’t change it. And our three attacking midfield players could certainly pose a threat to the under strength Liverpool back line

Crikey, Fulham two up at Leicester

If Wolves play like they did yesterday they have a chance.

a lot of folks said a lot of things before the leciester game too.

apparently because we tonked them now they are so bad even Fulham can win.

no doubt it will be the same for this one v wolves.

let's see who is left standing frankly.

I'm following Nuno's lead Oldy. On to the next one, analyse the mistakes and try to improve

Well we have a luxury before we play wolves....we have FIVE WHOLE days to rest and recover....that will be huge for us after playing every 2-3 days

It's tough coping with domestic and European competitions for sure

The Vile look like they've stopped off at Tottenham to borrowed some kit on their way to Stratford tonight.

Whoever wins out of the Hammers or Villa will go above us in the table. A draw and neither of them do

That'll be West ham then after another farcical VAR interruption. 3 minutes to decide that the last gasp Vile goal should be disallowed for offside! Feck me what a complete nonsense this VAR malarkey is!

Villa did everything but grab the draw, missed penalty and disallowed VAR goal. 4 points between us in 7th and both Spurs on 1st and Palace in 15th. Tighter than a pair of tights.

Nobody will convince me that VAR is good for the game. It’s got nothing to do with who it favours and who it goes against

Crazy to give marginal offsides when the technology does not exist to stop the film at the exact moment the ball is played.

And crazy that the handball rule has been changed for VAR so that all that has to be proved is that the ball hit the hand with no judgement on whether that was accidental

And crazy that a technology has been invented where if you are in the stadium you have no idea what is happening and are not allowed to see the film being considered, and have to sit around waiting for someone a hundred miles away to make a decision

Bonkers

Like a free go this really. Go at them, put the new system through its paces defensively if we choose to use it in this game and go at them.

Have to start Silva i think, it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth for him if Nuno decided to change things to accommodate the loss of Jimenez.

Assuming after a good performance it will be unchanged other than Silva. Wonder if we could see Ait-Nouri used at times as a sub left midfielder as much as a defender over the coming weeks/months.

Also would like us to not go defensive until we have a two goal cushion rather than just a one goal cushion.

I hope i emphasised enough that we need to 'go at them'.

In his first public message since his operation Raul tweeted that he ‘hopes to return to the pitch soon’
We’ll all drink to that

So 3-5-2 and absorb pressure for the opening 45 minutes then?

Indeed, but not too much else we'll all have head aches as bad as his.

Whatever system we play, I hope we keep the same starting line up with Silva keeping his place. One unsung hero for me against Arsenal was Dendonker. He was up and down that pitch like a raging gazelle. I'm sure he'll get the goals his work rate deserves. Unlucky with his header, but got the assist.

Evidently the case that due to Brexit, British clubs will not be able to sign players under 18 years of age from Eu countries. And a maximum of 3 aged 18-21 from the eu in one transfer window
