their trying too ban fowling its been part of the game since the beginning its a disgrace how soft people are these days i heard there trying to ban priest's from saying amen at the end of preying they have to say awomen now to not cos offense i am sure you are with me when we say we have had ENOUGH
It's not about a weakened side clubs have a twenty five man squad and rotating is common players won't sit on the bench forever, youngsters need to be introduced if there is to be any future for them, youngsters at Arsenal have been our saviour, always look on the brightside.
It has nothing to with "lavishly remunerated" snowflake players needing a week's rest between games. The players are servants of the club and do what they're told. The "resting" of key players, the half-time substitutions, etc were not about protecting them from fatigue, but avoiding injuries. As we have seen, our squad is not strong enough to cover injuries to our key players.
I don't there is a significant threat of relegation this season and thought it was worth having a go at the Cup, but perhaps those in charge see it very differently and maybe they are right to do so. Perhaps they are not so much concerned by the threat of relegation, as by our eventual league position? If we were to finish top-half, that would be a successful season and the rewards might be much greater - financial, pulling-power (quality of players willing to come to us, sponsorship deals, etc.) than finishing 16th and reaching the quarter finals of the FA Cup.
Injuries (to our centre-backs) have already been negatively affecting our season/results. As versatile as our players are, we can't really afford many more injuries that require people to play out of position.
It is about trying to get an advantage. If your players are fresher than the opponents they should perform better.
You could play the same XI every week, and over time their fitness levels will drop significantly.
Back in the old days, in the Revie era, all teams used the same players week in week out, so it wasn't a factor.
Bielsa thought he was putting a team out that would beat Crawley, I'm sure if that.

Yes I agree on the play the best team possible and all this resting loads of first team players is nonsense. Although Klich has looked knackered and would have understood just his omission against Crawley . However they are supposed to be professional athletes who get a couple of days off in the week like everyone else and a couple of months off at the end of the season. They should have plenty of time to rest and recover and not be knackered.
Tennis players play consecutive days or every other day in competition and do this week in week out for about 9 months.
Horse Jockeys race nearly every day in their particular season of flat or national hunt and these sports are just as energy sapping as football.
There is no doubt footballers in the top division today and for the last 20 years or so definitely have it a lot easier than other athletes in other sports and are just being molly coddled.
i can't believe some fools think a pro athlete can't play 4 games in two weeks. take your sport science and shove it up your ass.

I agree! No doubt Bielsa put out a team to win, but for many reasons we didn’t perform. Usually you’d expect the minnow to get a goal and cling on, but Crawley to their credit have delivered a result that ranks as one of the worst in the club’s history...maybe overshadowed by Colchester and Sunderland, both of which I was too young to remember.

And Andy Murray is a physical mess. Djokovic has moaned about fatigue for a decade. Rafa is an injured mess. And tennis is a non contact sport.

They could play every day, and many would prefer that to training.
If playing the same XI three times a week was a better option then managers would do it.

Tennis is a fair bit more physically demanding than football
Tennis players run a lot less than footballers and there's no contact. Either way top sports people nowadays are supreme athletes with a routine for training and recovery to get the best out of them. 3 games a week doesn't give enough recovery time to get back to peak condition.
