No idea what to expect from Cardiff, apart from the MM brand of direct stuff. Therefore, wouldnt be surprised to see another outing for Edmundson. Think Eric Steele on the Moan In was even considering trying him in the Bielik role.
Wonder if Beni is anywhere near a start this time ? Perhaps he could give the midfield a much needed boost ?
I think either Knight or Shinnie could do with a break. I wouldn’t mind seeing the 3-5-2 tomorrow. Forsyth in for Buchanan for his height and because Buchanan also looked like he needs a rest.
Marshall/Roos
Edmundson Wisdom Clarke
Byrne Knight Bird Benigime Forsyth
CKR Gregory
Ultra-defensive maybe but might keep it tight enough to get us to the last thirty minutes and with options to change it around if needed.
Think you might be fairly close to it there, Vidal, with Waggy and Joz starting on the bench
Morning guys. I must admit I hadn't realised Mick McCarthy had joined Cardiff. My heart sank. I remember those awful games against Ipswich and Millwall when he was Manager. How we'd get our penalty area battered by an aerial bombardment and 11 players behind the ball
Tonight I expect nothing less....although of course Cardiff probably do possess better players than either of those teams mentioned.
I would therefore expect to see a back 5 which includes Edmundson and maybe Fozzie and Mengi as Wing Backs. I agree with other comments that 1 or 2 players could do with a rest so it could be that there will be 4 or 5 changes tonight. I read in the DET that Rosenior said Beningame was pushing for a start so maybe he'll get some minutes. I'd also like to see Sibley operating alongside Ckr. That said Gregory could also get some minutes too.
Looking forward to seeing the line up - if not the game

I agree nearly entirely with your team selection Vidal. I also think Buchanan needs a rest, but I might start Sibley.
I would also like to see Sibley given a chance in his best position, i.e. attacking midfielder but I can't see Rooney going with that from the start. Sibley for Bird in that team might work quite well though hard on Bird who I thought was our best player against Forest.
I'm struggling with this one, our match vs 'Notts Forest' indicated a few players are desperately in need of a breather now. If Knight is dropped then Beni would be the likely replacement but I also thought Sibley deserved a chance in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Given Cardiff have not lost in 9 games to coincide with Mick McCarthy joining I think shoring our defence and using Edmondson's aerial threat would probably be the best course of action.
Sibbo running at their defence could be the perfect foil for CKR?
Although their defence will be better organised than Brum, it's worth a try.
Roos
Wisdom
Shinnie
Edmundson
Jozwiak
Mengi
Clarke
Sibbo
Gregory
Bucko
Baningime
Wow!
Looking forward to seeing how that pans out.
RD suggesting 4 4 2 🤔
Roos
Edmundson Wisdom Clarke
Mengi Baningime Shinnie Buchanan
Jozwiak Sibley
Gregory
Or 4-1-4-1 with Edmundson as the CDM.
Wish I'd gone for a 0-0 now
Substitutes: Idem, Forsyth, Bird, Waghorn, Byrne, Kazim-Richards, McDonald, Knight, Watson.
Genius if it comes off. Have to think that keeping Buchanan in the team means pushing the wing backs well forward and 3 at the back. If that’s the case then you would think that Sibley and Jozwiak will be coming inside as much as possible. If they can find pockets behind Gregory it might even work.
Keeper. Decent when Ive seen him. Confident.
