My Transfer Targets Shortlist

Attacking players: I was on board with the Sancho signing but I really do think this needs more of a depth signing, rather than a starter position given other needs

Sancho: £80m

Kane: £120m. Not happening unless the price is reduced dramatically.

Danny Ings: £20m. Can’t see it but it’s a budget friendly deal if it ever materializes.

Jack Grealish. £75m. Not leaving IMO but he’d be my first choice signing in this list.

Dele Alli: £15m-25m. Potentially a great Buy-Low situation. If Dele can find his form again, he’ll be a bargain.

Matheus Pereira: £30m. One of the most impactful players among the relegation teams. Extremely agile, great eye for the pass, and a great set piece taker. Think Mata with more athleticism.

Jonathan David: £30m. Lille’s hardworking CF, similar to Cavani. Could be someone to look at in the future but his value is only going to go up from here on out IMO.

Jonathan Ikone: £45m Lille’s RW who replaced Nicolas Pepe on the right flank. An inverted winger, he may be a fit in the counter attacking, high pressing formation Ole sets up.

Moussa Diaby/Leon Bailey: £45m apiece. Pacy wingers similar to Ikone. Could be a systems’ players so risk there

Excellent article 5 stars, well researched.
I will leave others less ignorant than me to pass judgement on the players, because there is a good junk I've never heard of.

Good article, I don't really watch foreign football so be interested in seeing what others think of those suggestions.

Great to have some info on the lesser know talents out there. 5 stars from me mate.

Great list of suggestions, would be happy with any of those if we signed them. Awful collection of players mostly from farmers leagues if we don't sign them. I have never seen any of them play.

Ben White for under 30m seems incredibly ambitious. They knocked back 25m last summer from Leeds and now he's in the England squad, proven in the Premier League and you're Manchester United. You paid 80m for Maguire. Double your estimate to get the deal done i reckon.

Grealish is the one that in my opinion that comes into United takes them on a level.

White, Rice, Grealish.

200m no change.

The main talking point that stands out for me in this article would be if from your list of attackers, we really need a RW (Sancho, for example?) or if we should focus on getting Kane who there have been more solid links to?

apparently Soumare was a banker to join Leicester, but he'd be moving to a club without CL next season if he did so

I had majority of the article written out last week. I forgot to submit it. White making the provisional squad will definitely kick up his price tag for sure, I agree.

Potter leaving BHA should make this an interesting proposition.

Some of you may laugh off of the players I'd mention up there but you're essentially getting a player before the likes of Dortmund/Leicester/etc and cutting out the inflated prices you would need to pay if these players turn out to be good.

I had a lot of difficulty figuring out the valuation on the players without price tags because on one hand, I was factoring in COVID and on the other, I didn't want to factor in COVID.

Also, I factored out the valuation on these players with the clubs financials in mind too. Racic, for example, is playing for a Valencia club that has an owner gone rogue and refuse to pay top dollars for players.

This is the frustrating thing with our scouts in recent times when you see players go to clubs like Leicester for low fees and within a short space of time they have someone at the level of Ndidi that we're crying out for.

Whether we'd have been able to get him at the same cost, or if the price goes up when we become interested I don't know, or perhaps they're more able to take a gamble on these types of players than we are where the manager is sacked if they don't make top 4.

I actually like his game. He's to OM what Harry is to us. Liverpool was close to bringing him in January but Caleta-Car decided he wanted to stay in France.

I'm looking forward to circling back on this article to see how many of these players succeeded in the next club they go to.

A lot of the names stemmed from researching players linked to the clubs big on developing young players (Dortmund, Red Bull, etc)

If you look at the last earnings call, we have around £80m in cash reserve with a £140m in revolving door credit. I'd say we have around £150m to spend before the debt level creeps upwards again

The reason why I think this should/will be a depth signing is because I think Ole wants to gamble on Amad and Pellistri to fill the void. I'm not sure if I agree with this move but that's how I see it.

Amad has been pretty promising and Pellistri has been getting a decent run of games for Alaves and had his best moments against Atletico. Bringing in a 21 year old Sancho means you're writing off the two of them having a career at Old Trafford, with Amad costing an excess of £30m.

A more budget attacker in his prime will more likely be the move United makes this summer.
