Why do Chelsea need another starting fullback? Chilwell and James not good enough? Or is Reece James going to play right of a back 3 maybe?

Azipilcueta and Alonso are getting on I suppose, and I don't think need much else this window really.
I'd have thought they'd be in for a striker at least.
Hakimi is better than James. That's how they roll. If they find a better player than the one they have they bid for him.

The latter I think. Hakimi is one of the best (if not the best) wing backs around.
If we could double up with Reece James (from RCB) and Hakimi (RWB) on the right hand side I think that would give any team team a lot of trouble.
I believe James at RCB is a move Tuchel wants to do to try an overwhelm the teams that decide to sit deep. As James got a lot of quality offensively as well.
Woodward’s last transfer window. Let’s see how he manages to fack this one up.

He could also try playing more midfielders/forwards instead of 5 defenders.
Doesn’t really suit Chelsea’s squad.

I fail to see how Ed can be held responsible should the window not be what we hoped.

I think the impact of covid is a bit of a myth to be honest. The clubs will look at it as a one season hit and predictions around revenue in the mid to long term are pretty positive. I've said all along I think you'll see some pretty big signings this summer and City, Chelsea and United will go big. The only thing that may skew it and not create a domino effect we have seen before, is the Spanish giants not being able to spend without selling.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet the top guy at City said recently the window would be difficult as there would be little liquidity in the market.

You have already reeled off 3 big transfers and it is June 9th. I guarantee that City will spend 100 million plus this summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That 100m+ is likely to be on just one of the players they buy. I have a horrible feeling they're going to spend big, even by their standards.

And City need to really to replace Aguero. Nothing they currently have comes close to peak era Aguero. Pep will probably wanna buy another fullback or 2, can’t resist them.

Speculation about a big refresh already, stuff like Sterling and Silva out, Kane, Grealish and Niguez in etc.
Lots of new faces doesn't guarantee instant success, but incrementally improving what you've got usually does (Fergie had a period when he was good at that).
